what are some good things to do in San Diego for a 19 year old?

There are tons of things to do in SD! There is Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park and a ton of museums, several beaches... Pacific Beach is more trendy, frat boyish vibe, Ocean Beach hippie area, Mission Beach is touristy, I would not recommend Imperial Beach it can be a little rough there. If you can find some locals to show you around Sunset Cliffs that is an awesome local secluded beach. La Jolla is a really nice upscale area, and of course downtown (Gaslamp) is always a blast, tons of shops. Old town is nice an quaint, little shops and good restaurants. At your age obviously there are some limitations for nightlife, but I am sure that they have some 18+ clubs too. Not to mention Tiajuana is just a walk over a bridge and short cab ride away. If you do that though I recommend going with a group especially if you are female. Anyway, I hope you have a great time in SD, I am sure that you will! :D

The city draws tourists with beaches and bays, Balboa Park with its many museums, the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, San Diego Wild Animal Park (in Escondido, north of the city) and Old Town, the site of of the original Spanish settlement.

Hey...I used to live in Imperial Beach; it's not at all rough there. And Lydia's is a great Mex restaurant in IB.
There are so many things a 19 yo can do in and around SD:
* Best zoo in the world
* Sea World, eat dinner with an Orca whale
* All the beaches: Silver Strand, Mission, and on and on
* Old Town, Gaslight for some boutiques, shoppes, and restaurants
* Waterfront for Bay view, tall ships, restaurants
* Coronado, elegant waterfront homes, Del Coronado Hotel (of Some Like it Hot fame), golf course, beaches (I used to live on G Ave in Coronado)
* La Jolla, waterfront views, shoppes, boutiques, rest.....
* Padres baseball, Chargers football
* U. of SD and SD State activities (meet people your own age at nearby clubs, rest....etc.)
* Hang gliding off beach cliffs north of SD

hang out in downtown. you probably cant get to much but just walking in downtown san diego and the gas lamp is a hell lot of fun. sea port village and around the beach areas are also pretty nice.

Activities at the beach, mountains or deserts. The nightlife can be a definite plus as well. There's always Mexico a few miles to the south. Stay away from Tijuana. Just for tourists. Oh wait....... you will be a tourist. Stay away anyway.

Since you are 19 if you have a passport go mexico and beer or go see a baseball game with the padres theres beaches and if you like animals the zoo or go to the casino

PB Bar and Grill in Pacific Beach and
Jose's in La Jolla are good places to hang out.
