Any towns like Stars Hollow in California?

Are there any towns similar to Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls in California? Like fun, nice towns where alot of people get to know each other? Ecspecially maybe around the San Diego area or Southern California. Not little dumpy towns though!

Ive asked this question many times and I get answers but the towns are never like stars hollow. If you ever get a chance you can go to the east coast and do some exploring. Amy Sherman-Palladino said Stars Hollow was based on the town of Washington Depot in CT. Hope that helps.
