A good friend has recently retired and is trying to decide where to move. He is very sensitive to heat but doesn’t like snow and ice. He is also leery of earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes. He doesn’t necessarily need to be in or near a big city but he is relatively young and wants to be somewhat near cultural activities. The cost of living is not a consideration. I don’t know how to advise him.

Is his only solution residences in two locations – one for summer and one for winter? I would like to hear opinions.

It's a nice Spring day (as with everyday), clear, blue skies, around 78 degrees, a little warm, with a nice breeze.... Fall is crisp yet sunny and warm. I can wear open-toed sandles in the middle of December/Jan with no problem.... I don't ever need a coat, in fact I don't even own one and haven't in over 10 yrs! Our summers are warm, but never drastic or unbearable... The weather is never to the EXTREME here, it's always a happy, comfortable medium all year round....

i was going to try and get to New York and get a train once i got off the plane. My friend says it would be better to go to newark, but it's cheaper for me to go to JFK. Therefore i was wondering how close the train stations are to the airport. I am a dreadful traveller and need things to be easy.
Also i was wondering if i could book a ticket for the train in advance, and about how much it would be. Can anyone help ? please

A small rural town to live in with historic architecture, art scene, dining and small town feel. Near resorts but off the beaten path with outstanding on a lake or river.

What is your opinion about Texas? Not all of us voted for "you know who" that lives in the "you know what". Have you ever been here? What did you get out of it?

Like small towns or just wilderness. Don't need social stuff. Just peaceful, back to nature kind of stuff
