I am going to be studying in Vermont next fall, and i would really like to know what the temperatures are like and if there is snow?

Yes, there is USUALLY a snowfall by thanksgiving, but it may not stick... it is usually 30's-50's...The ski areas open by thanksgiving if they can...I have had lots of years when it snows on Halloween, so be prepared for anything...

Not usually. You might get lucky and get a big snowfall -- it's certainly happened -- but reliable snow cover doesn't kick in until about mid-December (Christmas is usually white). The ski resorts typically don't open until December (other than maybe one isolated run at the top of the mountain where they lay down man-made snow continuously despite it being 40 degrees, just so they can have a run open).

High temps are in the 40s and 50s, mostly. The leaves are off the trees by mid- to late-October, so it's the ugliest month of the year (well, that and April, aka "mud season"). Sorry!
