I grew up about 2 hrs away. There are many sights to see here. Table rock Lake is a must see, even if you just drive around it and enjoy its beauty. I would say for myself the best thing and value too in Branson is the Shepard Of The Hills. The first time I visited this I was not looking forward to it. I always thought it was a religious "Theme Park" . Oh how wrong I was. I spent over 8 hrs there with my wife. It has something for everyone. Not as crowded as some of the other theme parks there. Just a joy to visit. You must stay until night fall and see the play they put on after dark. My best advice to anyone who is a first time visitor to Branson is don't get in a hurry to go anywhere. the traffic at times can remind you of a city 20 times bigger. Be sure and see a show on Main street. My favorite there is the Jim Stafford show. He is the guy who sang, "I dont Like Spiders and Snakes" song. I really dont think there is a bad show anywhere here, but choose what is your taste and sit back and enjoy!! If traveling by car try and go back through Springfield and eat at Lambert's, "Home Of The Thrown Rolls" restaurant. It is located right there on the highway. Excellent food and very entertaining. Has been the highlight to many a trip.

I personally like Silver Dollar City. It has a wide variety of rides for all ages [rollercoasters for teenagers and older people, but easier rides and playhouses for the smaller ones], and great shows that almost everyone in the family can enjoy. Plus, they have a ton of different food to choose from. They also have different demonstrating craftsmen throughout the park - blacksmith, baker, candy maker, coppersmith, etc.
It's a lot of fun!
