I am a 27 year old bartender in Detroit at 2 large music venues and I have heard so much crap talked about the city by people who I feel that their negative judgement about Detroit has ultimately given the city a bad rap across the country and the world. Detroit had a secret.The people who live here have alot of pride and hope for their beloved city, there are many undiscoverd group of talent. Our local media dosent cover issues or events concerning art or music, and on a broader scale I think it affects the cities image, and outsiders do not hear or see the culture that prevails here. Its sad the people from the suburbs tell people that Detroit is a dangerous place and if they visit the area to immediatly go outside of the city for amusement and culture. Are they supporting their local communties by talking crap about a city that needs people to understand its not the evil place everyone says it is?

Ok, so in a few months i'll be going to hawaii. But i dont want to get stranded too late or too eairly for check in. So my 2 questions are, 1. If check in is at 2pm when should my flight from san francisco to hawaii leave, and will i have to take a second plane to Kauai? 2. I like the idea of Hotwire because I just can't decide where to stay in LV, LA and SF. But I am worried that I will end up with a real dive of a place that has terrible reviews? What can I do if this happens? What are others' experience of using this site?

As far as i know the Signature @ MGM Grand is not located on the strip and it is the newest property of MGM. Would anyone who had stayed there before be kindly share some experiences? Especially the distance from The Signature to the center of the strip. Is it really a very long walk? How bad is it then?

On the pavement side, when facing the fountain in the White House garden, you can notice a small black box reading "Welcome to the White House" with a press-button on it ??? what's its purpose ?? I pushed it and nothing (bad -unfortunately) happened ! Just for dumb people to try it ?? ;-)

I would love to move to San Diego. We have two children a 4 yr. old and a 9 mo. old. I would love for my kids to be able to experience the ammenities of a big city...and the great weather and could be outside everyday and play. Although if we lived there we couldn't afford the housing in the areas we wouldn't want to live. We would probably have to just rent a condo. Could you please help me those who live in San Diego...where do young families live?
