I got admitted to Northern Kentucky University, and i have never been there. Is there anyone from there that can tell me a few things about the city. Is it big, clean, is there diversity, what is the temperature like?

I've lived less than a mile from NKU nearly all my life. I attended classes there for a year and a half. I guess you would say the campus is medium sized -- it's growing very rapidly. All the buildings in the main Highland Heights campus are in walking distance. The parking situation sucks -- there are more cars than parking spaces. The campus is often referred to as "The Concrete Jungle" because everything is concrete.

The actual city of Highland Heights is a typical suburban town. There is little crime and it's a very safe place to be. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping within 10-20 minutes of campus -- just depends on what you're after. Fortunately Highland Heights is close to everything. Diversity is more prevalent on campus than off -- we're far from a perfect melting pot though.

On campus be prepared for the wind! It can get very windy and chilly on campus between all the buildings. Greater Cincinnati has a temperate climate -- it's not uncommon to have 70 degree whether one day and 45 the next. We typically have cold winters and hot summers -- people always say about Cincinnati, "If you don't like the whether today, just wait until tomorrow."

Don't hesitate to e-mail me if you have any other questions. Where are you from?
