I have never lived in the mid-west and am concerned whether I will like it. I am single and would like a lot of activities to attract me to a city like theatre, music scene, etc.. Please, let me know what you like and don't like abt Milwaukee!

I live and work in Downtown Milwaukee. There are many fun things to do for single people. Great nightlife, the crime rate is only bad in the bad areas (every city is like that). We have a great symphony, nice museums, fantastic restaurants.Try some of these websites below.

Milwaukee is the city of festivals. The big one is Summerfest, which is 10 days in the summer. Then every weekend there is a different ethnic festival. Different foods, music, culture everything. The problem is that the summer does not last forever. Once the winter rolls around you must find an inside venue, sometimes a little harder. If you are into cutting edge stay on the east side. If you want something a little slower closer to like a Cheers type atmosphere stay on the south side. Either way you can not go wrong. People of Milwaukee and the midwest are good people. I have been to the coasts and always love coming back to Milwaukee.

Milwaukee is great for music and theatre! There are many venues to see shows, concerts, etc. The best thing about Milwaukee is Summerfest! Only complaint I have about living in the midwest is the cold weather and the snow. Other than that the Milwaukee area is great. I do recommend moving to one of the surrounding cities they're much more affordable and have lower crime rates (look into places like Brookfield, Wauwatosa, etc.)

Milwaukee has become a high crime city in the last few years.
I would venture to tell you that one of the suburb cities in the "Chicagoland" area would get you closer to the type of activities you are looking for.
Take your time and research this thought you have thoroughly before making the move to here, back east.
I live about 2 hours from the Chicago metro area.
I hope this helps you some. Email me if you would like with any further questions.
