I heard Californians are more laid back and down to earth than New Yorkers. People would tell me that they would visit New York and said that the people there are rude and not as down to earth as Californians. Also, they say that their hospitality and attitude is cold as the weather and that weather is warm and sunny in California because the people there are warm and friendly.. Is that true?

One of the buildings that is close to Battery Park in New York, appears to be shaped like an actual battery (e.g. an AA cell battery).

It is more obvious when viewed from the water, as in this photo: http://www.hellonewyork.com/Images/Photos/972005Battery_Park_and_Downtown-sm.jpg . It is the building in the middle that I am referring to.

As I cannot find any information about this building, I was wondering whether, given the name of the park, this similarity was intentional, or whether it was just a coincidence. I appreciate that the park was not named after an actual battery, but I suppose it is possible that a visual reference could have been made by the designers. Has anyone else noticed this?

The only one downtown that still have availability (10/17-20) is the Ramada (which I heard is in a sketchy area). Is that true? or it is ok? If I had to stay in another area, which is the closest (cherry creek?), or which place would you recommend? Thank you Denver denizens for the help!

We want to takr a trip to Vegas but it would have to be in the summer (June/July). Is this a bad time to go? Is it too hot?

And you might go even more if you have the pass.
I'm just thinkin' because each trip the hopper passes are like very very close to $300 and the passes I think are only $564. Which means roughly just a couple hundred more to get a pass that you can use over and over in a year.
Good deal?
