We want to takr a trip to Vegas but it would have to be in the summer (June/July). Is this a bad time to go? Is it too hot?

June MIGHT be a little cooler. It's usually hot from May until September. Regardless, everywhere you go will have airconditioning. There are even water mists along the strip to keep you cool. Vegas is the most fun when it's hot. You'll be able to take advantage of indoor and outdoor activities and don't have to be bothered with wearing bulky clothes or carrying a jacket.

I would say that June/July is one of the worst times to visit Las Vegas. I know people who have been there on business during July and they hated the whole time. Its probably between 110 and 115 degrees in the mid-summer, and you can't leave things such as rubber out in the sun without it melting in up to 10 minutes. I went to Vegas back in 2002 to visit family that lives out there in March/April during Spring Break and it was probably the best time to go. The temperature while I was there was probably about 85-89 degrees (still a little hot but perfect for the desert), with about 9% humidity which was hard to adjust to being from East Coast. I would definitely say that June/July would be way too hot to visit Las Vegas.

I've lived here since 1981 and have hated every day but stay for the job, the Summers are up to 115 and some days are very windy and if you drive outside of town and go up higher when you look back at Vegas to see the casinos you will see a brown cloud that stays over Vegas I have never seen it not there

Ive been there lots of times towards the end of June. Its in the lower 100s in the daytime. With very low humidity, its tolerable and a nice time to go. Cools down nice at night. Take a sweater, though. When its hot outside, the casinos are quite chilly. Have fun on your trip.

July is very hot down there. I have been there three times in the summer months and the best way to describe being out side is it is like being in a giant blow dryer. However once the sun drops it's great. It's 80-85 degrees at midnight. So I say go down there, just plan your day so that your inside gambling etc. in the day and go out and party/roam at night.

I have been there in the summer and loved it and I have been there in the summer and hated it. It really depends on if you can take the heat. When I loved it, I could. We did all of the water activities during the day and our hotel-hopping at night. It is wonderful at 2 am when it is super hot out and the streets are crowded with pedestrians. It is definitely best to stay indoors as much as possible during the day.

You will be fine. If it is really, really hot - just stay indoors. Instead of walking down the strip, take a cab, rent a car or take the bus. Always carry a cold bottle of water. Don't get drunk and then start walking around the strip when it is 110 degrees outside.

When I went in July, I felt like I was in an oven whenever I went outside. The heat is intense.
