We saw cactus on the island of St. Croix in the Virgin Islands when we visited! I know, not a state, but they are a territory. Weird nontheless.

There are a lot of cactus in Arizona. Do you mean how many types?

Florida has an abundance of them. I used to grow all different types in my yard. They also grow wild all over the place down there. With Florida's sandy soil, they thrive. A lot of the cactus in Florida are different than the ones in Arizona. Florida has humidity and Arizona is dry, hence the difference. I guess the varieties in Florida can handle the humid climate. Although, when I was in Arizona this May, I did see a few cactus types there that also grew in my yard in FL. Go figure. I really can't answer your question about how many cactus plants there are in Arizona, there must be millions. They grow wild all over the place. I couldn't even tell you how many types grow there. I have a lot of nice picture of cacti from Arizona.
