Okay, Mapquest says you can drive from Scranton to the town I'm visiting near NYC in three hours, going thru north Jersey. If I leave about noon, is that a realistic estimate, or is there likely to be bad traffic anywhere along that route this week on a weekday? Thanks.

Follow-up question ... I am wondering where to park if I take the Metro from Arlington into DC (national mall area). The metro I want to take (Rosslyn) doesn't indicate any parking in that area. So does that mean I cannot drive to that location, park my car, and get on the metro? If that's the case, where do I park? This is just as bad as trying to figure out where to park in DC to do the tourist stuff. I suppose there are parking garages nearby? AHHH, can't find free parking for nothing! lol
