Mission Hills, by Presideo Park is a very nice (albeit expensive) area
above Old Town and the airport. It is also quite close to Hillcrest, a primarily gay community. It is also conveniently close to downtown, Mission Beach and Mission Valley, overall a good choice. Lots of jobs in nearby hospitals and tourist service areas.
There are few fake people anywhere in San Diego (unlike even worse than SFO) is LA.

Hmmmm. So take your time and think it through Alessia. I moved to SD from SF about 5 months ago, I'm on a trip back up to SF right now, and I'm starting to realize just how much I miss SF. I really miss being in a "real" city, SD has the nice weather and is definitely more affordable, but it's nothing like being in a first class city.

This area is really nice, not as hectic. More laid low, not that the freeway is any better, but inside, pleasure!!!
