Follow-up question ... I am wondering where to park if I take the Metro from Arlington into DC (national mall area). The metro I want to take (Rosslyn) doesn't indicate any parking in that area. So does that mean I cannot drive to that location, park my car, and get on the metro? If that's the case, where do I park? This is just as bad as trying to figure out where to park in DC to do the tourist stuff. I suppose there are parking garages nearby? AHHH, can't find free parking for nothing! lol

There are LOTS of parking garages in Rosslyn. There are also parking meters.

if you feel like driving a little bit further down to Rock Creek Park, they have "free" parking. right off of 30th and M street. they only ticket there around noon. if you get there after then, you can park all day there for free.
