North Carolina seems to get a lot of hurricanes, but every state has it's problems, doesn't it? If you have to move there, make sure you know how to spell it right. Otherwise you'll anger the natives.

Below is a list of hurricanes that happened in that area from 1900-2004.

Depends on where you live in North Carolina. The outerbanks tend to get struck with pretty hard rains, the coastal plains (east of raleight but west of the beach) tends to get about the same damage- ex: Floyd in 2000, several cities were devestated particularly Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Enfield...with floods. The mountains rarely get hurricanes, the last severe hurricane to even strike the mountains was around 1956 when Hazel came through. All and all, North Carolina tends to come in direct contact with heavy rains with most hurricanes. Sometimes NC gets lucky enough that the hurricane isn't as powerful when it strikes. Remember though that weather is unpredictable.

Yup. -In FACT, N. Carolina gets MORE hurricanes than Florida!!! -So tell your parents to take out ALL the Insurance they can afford. Sooner or later- they're going to need it.
