Isn't it unfair that only women has to adopt the husband's family name?

I know some people has a terible family name, Imagine you are Gaylord Focker... wouldn't it be nice if you can just adopt your new spouse's family name so you don't have to do with the legalities of changing family names?

And does the philippine Law favors men when it comes to nuptials so that only the women will change their name?

I know this houses most of the places in Japan with the highest costs of living, but if you were to compare them (Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Saitama, Tokyo, Chiba, and Kanagawa), which would turn to have the least cost of living? I wouldn't want to live any farther from this place, so I'm asking.

I'd rather be poor in material things but can sleep soundly at night than having material things but have so much hatred in my heart and knowing that I treated someone unjustly.
