I am staying in Indonesia as a tourist for 9 days. I am not going there to work. From the website embassyofindonesia.org, I found a long list of required items to get the visa... including a letter of employment and bank statement. Am I mis-reading this information, or do I really need proof of employment and bank statement? Thanks to anyone who has first-hand knowledge!

Does he make you laugh? smile? giggle?

Awwww come on... I see your face grinning at me there!

Does my question or answers hit you at the weakest spot? Why are some of you so sensitive there?

I might be teaching ESL there (hopefully) and want to hear from experiences from other people. I am leaning towards Japan, Philippines or maybe Thailand. Japan in my opinion has the best looking women in East Asia. What country are they most open and friendly towards Americans? I hate to ask such a question but if I am going to live there for a year I better ask this question.

If you have visited Korea or have lived there, what was your purpose for it? Did you have a good time? If so, how did you enjoy your stay there? Were you able to learn something about Korean culture?
(The last time I went was in the summer of 2000 for one of my uncle's wedding..)

of the people participating here at YAP? No offense meant but I feel like I'm in the middle of frat/sorority war in here. Yahoo answers is supposed to be a forum for asking questions that make sense and for people to share what they know about the topic, isn't that correct?

I will be in china for 5 weeks this summer and will take some money over there but wanted to ask what method is best to take?

how about cash? is there is a charge to convert my u.s. dollars to chinese yen or yuan, whatever its called? if so, how much?

or would it be best to take my mastercard debit card? i was told paypal only charges $1 to take out money but that does not include the charges that the atm machines will charge over there.

all answers will be helpful. thanks!

I sent a letter to Wuhe, Bengbu but it never got there. I wrote down the address like that, "Anhui shen, Wu hexian, long hu chun # hao. China". I wonder if the postman, in this area, can read it as written in roman characters. Or have i written it the wrong way?

When people ask you what kind of transport system does the Philippines have now or if credit cards are widely used here?

Do they think just because we are the labelled at times as "the Philippine Islands" dahling makes people abroad think we are some backwards hula dancing primitive country? Oh dahlings, the irony of it...*gasp*

"There are quite a few cheaters in Yahoo Answers. Often, I'm amazed at the ferocity at which they pursue reaching a top 10 list of top contributor status--given that Yahoo Answers does not compensate reaching such a goal in any tangible way. Medically the term for this condition is OCD (obsessive-compulsive disroder) or some variant.

These cheaters employ every despicable manner of methods that are bereft of ethics, propriety and dignity to attempt to subvert the rules that everybody else must abide by.

Obviously, they were not raised properly by their parents.

It saddens me to think of how empty their REAL lives must be for them to think that their "status" on an Internet forum full of strangers could be so important that they spend literally 24 hours a day, 365 days a year here fervently answering questions (and cheating while at it)--as if their efforts here will actually result in some meaningful sense of fulfilment.

It won't.

Where are these people's REAL LIFE
