"There are quite a few cheaters in Yahoo Answers. Often, I'm amazed at the ferocity at which they pursue reaching a top 10 list of top contributor status--given that Yahoo Answers does not compensate reaching such a goal in any tangible way. Medically the term for this condition is OCD (obsessive-compulsive disroder) or some variant.

These cheaters employ every despicable manner of methods that are bereft of ethics, propriety and dignity to attempt to subvert the rules that everybody else must abide by.

Obviously, they were not raised properly by their parents.

It saddens me to think of how empty their REAL lives must be for them to think that their "status" on an Internet forum full of strangers could be so important that they spend literally 24 hours a day, 365 days a year here fervently answering questions (and cheating while at it)--as if their efforts here will actually result in some meaningful sense of fulfilment.

It won't.

Where are these people's REAL LIFE

2007-06-28 05:41:14 · 23 answers · asked by Anonymous in Travel Asia Pacific Philippines

Where are these people's REAL LIFE families, friends and loved ones? Are they running away from them, like say an unhappy bride in a bad marriage? Or do they not have any in the real world who would return their attentions like a lonely foreigner who has to travel overseas to marry a mail-order bride?

I shed a tear for you cheaters."

Added: Thanks for all your answers/comments. There is no doubt in my mind that WELL was alluding to me when he said those things. I am the ONLY new name in that Top 10 List. And this is NOT the first time that he has made unfair and baseless accusations about me. Everything else I was willing to ignore but when he dragged my parents into this, he has really crossed the line and that I will not let go that easy.
Yes, Y!A is a game and I'm a player so I can be played...that's fine...BUT please, not my parents.

First of all INDAY, my friend, I apologise for giving my comment so late and second, I as a foreigner, would like to apologise for the ranting and ravings of that frustrated, egotistical and self-opionated WELL.

I think that his tirade was aimed at you and BINI BINI and FELICITY. He cannot understand why he is not in the top ten and why he doesn't have the orange box.
WELL here are the facts so please get off your sanctimonious soap box for a few minutes will you and try to digest the following:
1/ the money, that the organisation you work for and gives out, (and you happen to mention this every other week) is NOT and I repeat NOT yours. It was probably donated both by ordinary Americans and FilAms,

2/ you are not doing the work as a volunteer but are actually being paid to do it. So your not even donating your time,

3/ the $2.8 million that you have brought up on a few occasions only equates to $0.05 per (poor) person,

4/ when ALLAN Y lost his account you stated that YAHOO just doesn't strip the top answerer unless they have proof, probably correct but then wouldn't it be the same that if people were cheating Yahoo wouldn't put them in the top ten,

5/ you have accused INDAY, BINI, FELICITY and myself of forming a clique to get rid of you. Not a bad idea but the way I see it, you are doing a marvellous job yourself,

6/ you are making desperate and unfounded accusations with no proof whatsoever against anyone who doesn't agree with your answers,

7/ my personal belief is that you post the answers you do to purposelly irritate others so that you can proceed to report them,

I must state that most of the following is circumstantial:

8/ You sir have an aloof manner and constantly try to belittle or insult people with your attitude and with your use of words, not just on one occassion, that are not commonly used in everyday language (that reminds me of some-one else),

9/ You state that you work for an International welfare company that helps the poor in the Phils ( that reminds me of some-one else),

10/ Maybe your account is squeaky clean as you earlier stated because, like a good politician' you use others to do your dirty work and this probably explains your guarantee that your account will never be deleted,

11/ Once some-one disagrees with you you subtley go in boots and all (that reminds me of some-one else),

12/ Is it only a coincidence that the Trolls only attack people who don't get on with you?,

13/ Is it a coincidence that the Trolls never attack you?,

14/ You yourself have procrastinated your innocence but at the same time you are very quick to state someone else's unfounded guilt

15/ You allow the Trolls access to your questions, let them post their rubbish without even a slight slap across the nuckles,

Oh yes, I did find it amazing but not surprising the other day when some of the trolls came to your assistance.

When I first read this sad piece I thought it was a suicide note complete with I-can't-take-it-anymore privations, and I had a mental image of the troubled author (this well person) grasping his tear-soaked letter and ready to jump off a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I don't recall totally but I might even have felt a bit sorry for the guy, and so wondering if I could be of any help but also with great trepidation, I followed Felicity's link only to find ... "Who hates Wendy??" The heck. So this is just another one of those basic, everyday cockamamie rantings? (I want my money back!)

Except that this is some serious business. It is a deliberate and vicious attack, cleverly disguised, but nonetheless directed towards a specific person who, although not explicitly mentioned, can be identified by simple deduction. This vile diatribe lacks common decency and violates protocol - notably the #1 DON'T item of the community guidelines, as well as others; it is outside the bounds of fair play, serving no useful purpose.

Now I don't really give a rat's behind about the well character's quest for top 10 honors (what a lofty goal that is) but as a Pinoy, I must point out that repercussions resulting from these accusations - just stick to the facts! - puts the whole Filipino community in bad light as this is a public global forum. At a time when we should try to foster unity for our own advancement as a people, you are going in the opposite direction. This petulant behavior is uncalled for and incites chaos, and when you drag parents into your personal turmoil, it strikes deep into the hearts of children everywhere. This is the ultimate harm you could possibly inflict to anyone, and I must admire the restrained response from the asker. Obviously her parents taught her well (pun intended).

Slander or not..dont take Yahoo answers seriously...its a big world out there..get a life..

If you think an "internet forum full is strangers" is not important to you as well, then you must not be bothered by their existence here..the more you are affected, are more you give attention to them...the more they will stay here and enjoy what they are doing..

The best thing to do is:.
1. pretend they do not exist.
2. do not answer their questions.
3. spend less time in yahoo answers.

Not that i want to be in this battle, but since it is a public forum, my comment is that it is not slander for 2 reasons, the first is that it is not directed at anyone, or group of people in a specific sense. The second is that it may be true of some people and speculative of others, and this does not constitute slander or malicious intent.
In other words, in no legal way is this slander.
Its just a person being over opinionated and being a complete loud mouth.
The guy who wrote that seems like a bit of a seething nob, but none the less can you call it slander.
Maybe just immature and mean, but it does not qualify to be defamation of character
In my opinion, this forum of YA is just a game, and nothing more, so the writer of that statement will not be able to exist in my world.

This is not slander.

Slander is defined as "oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation." Libel, meanwhile, is "publising a falsehood that harms someone."

But even if the comment is posted here in YAP, it cannot be classified as libel. Why? Because, based on your direct quote, Wells (whoever he is) did not name any particular person. No specific person was stated or identified in his post so this cannot be classified as libel nor slander.

I think he is just merely voicing out his opinions regarding what he calls "cheaters" in YAP. Kung may tamaan, talo. Kung walang tamaan, okay lang.

If I were you, I'd rather not answer his posts. Wag ninyo na lang siyang pansinin if he bothers you so much. Titigil din naman yan kung wala nang pumapansin sa kanya. Or better yet, just report him if he violates YAP policies.

WELL, just for the two of us. We're friends right?....

Send a resume' at YAHOO. Position applied for was to be Detective of YAP. So that you could catch the cheaters and report to the YAHOO manager.

So you could stop complaining.

By the way, if you get hired don't forget your friend. Me! I gave you the tip, right?

Hehehe

Well Inday dahling, I don't do much since I've been gainfully unemployed for 2 years now. But I do have a life. So far, the YAP forum has struck my fancy, who knows what where I might find myself next week. I might get tired and fly off to God knows where and do God knows what?

We do have a life outside YAP, that guy is just sour-graping honey. Not having a life is still doing Yahoo answers at the UCC cafe at the Podium...oops cat's out of the bag dahling. For short, ignore him dahling. He has probably been out of the kolambo for so long that his head is full of it.

I understand your situation very much. I just do not know what kind of person is this tourist of the Philippines. Happy when hurting other's feeling because the person keeps on accusing someone.

I pity this kind of person really because its like 'na matanda na walang pinagkatandaan.' (a person who is old enough but did not gain wisdom from experience) This kind of person has the wrong sense or meaning of the word respect.

No choice but to move on.

And this is my answer to his miseries. He posted it at tinapot's Q. <*-*>

Please do ignore 'Well' and excuse him for being a whiner.
He's unwell and having a Chronic Attention Deficit Disorder right now because nobody trust him here in YAP.
As you can see he is using your question as an outlet of his misery. That's the only outlet he can do or else he'll breakdown and who knows. He's too high and mighty as you can see trying to hit regular answerers below the belt since he's too unwanted on this category and it's deflating its ego.
In other words, he's toasted. Poor Well. We pity you.

To Well:
Please don't forget to take your anti-depressants and your thorazine so you'll get over all of this real soon.
I hope that you'll figure out one day that THERE MUST BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU that's why regular answerers here are just ignoring and mistrusting you.
You don't even have friends here. The TRUTH hurts but sorry you have to deal with it.

He's even describing his own self on his statement and trying to make us LOL yet it's only making him more Absurd.

Get WELL soon. <*-*>

Yeah, sadly enough some people don't have a life. Therefore, they have to cheat to get ahead. I guess it is easy to cheat here so they take advantage of that. It is sad. All we can do is ignore the cheaters and enjoy the answers of good users like you.
