shekou? i'm not familiar with that city if it's in hong kong, the only place i know of is saikung. saikung is quite near to the airport. about HK$200 would be more than enough. there are a lot of money changers in hong kong airport, i believe one is called travel mate, you'll find these money changers after you have finished with immigration. and it is inside the airport. but i believe the price would be much higher. i suggest that why dont you just convert your money to HK$ while your still here in hte philippines? or if not try to do it with your bank. and please be careful there are fixers or 'pseudo walking money changer' inside the airport. my friend got swindled by these racketeers. they are not carrying fake money but they will sweet talk you to think that their deal is much better. so please beware.

First of all, better to bring US dollars and convert these to HK dollars when you arrive at the airport. If you change at least US$100, you shoulkd have more than enough for taxi to your hotel. I will not pretend to know exactly where your hotel is (haven't heard of it) but it will be impossible that US$ 100 in HK equivalent will not be enough.

While HK accepts peso-HK dollar conversion, I have not done that either. Typically, travelers benchmark on the US dollar.

HongKong taxis are metered, and are reliable.
