This must be the Salas area of Mt. Kanlaon. I was told this was named after a prominent son of Negros who once served as Executive Secretary to President Marcos.

I forgot where we started our ascent (was it La Carlota, or Kanlaon town?) but we drove up a zigzag road that had pine trees on bith sides. Indeed, the place looked like Baguio.

Up there, I saw a convention area, with accommodations. Near the convention area is the office where you get a permit to explore the forest.
