Travel - 12 July 2007

A guy friend, who I've known for about a year now, but have only actually seen him 4 or 5 times in the last year, and I took a walk from downtown Vegas to the Stratosphere at around 12:30-1 in the morning.

My sister had gotten married on 07-07-07. He was the best man in the wedding, so this has nothing to do with his trust or walking with him. I hung out with him a lot while we were there; unfortunately, it didn't lead to anything else, which is another story in itself. It just has to do with taking the walk.

When my mom found out, she didn't yell at me but pretty much told me it was a stupid thing to do because that's a really unsafe part of town. He's 28, I'm 26, so it's not like we're kids. It didn't seem to be that bad. We saw a couple of crazy people but nothing that really scared me.

I was wondering where there were some good places to go hiking around New Jersey. I leave about 30 minutes of New York city and wouldn't mine driving up to 2 -3 hours to find a good area to go hiking, especially if there are other things to do in the area.

im considering using an american express travllers card this year for my holiday instead of the usual travllers cheques, i know that you can withdraw money from atms with the card but its a worry and a pain having to find an atm when aborad and how far away it is from the hotel, so does anyone no if i can use the card at a hotle reception in exchange for funds like would you currently do with travllers cheques, thanks and if you have a source that would be great

Basically I want to hear people's experiences, what cities they were in, what hostels they stayed at and the cost. I know the cost varies for specific matters (where you stay, how much you eat, how long you're there) but I was thinking of saving about 6,000 dollars. I was thinking of traveling for a month. In Japan, normally steering wheel in the car is on the right side and driving on the left side on the road.
But sometimes can see left side steering wheel cars on the road.
Is it easy drive in Japan?
