If you have to choose between the two, go for Gary, Indiana. After all, there's a song about it in The Music Man, so how bad can it be? It's also the birthplace of the Jackson 5 (and all the other Jacksons, too, of course...) so there might be a cool museum or something...

I would highly recommend not going to either, you and your spouse to be will be disappointed. If you are looking to go to Michigan, take the extra time and drive up to Mackinac Island. It's a beautiful place and would be a wonderful place for a honeymoon. My husband and I went there for our anniversary and my sister was married on the island. You take a ferry to the island and can spend countless hours wandering around. You can rent either bikes or horses to tour the island. Either that or you can walk or take a horse drawn carriage around the island. Anyway, best of luck to you in your marriage! And honeymoon's are great, but it's what you make of them. For my husband and I, money was very tight so we went camping and had a wonderful time because we were together! =)
