Next week we are going to Florida (from IL) and my 7 yr old has a different last name than I do. I have sent in for a birth certificate, but all they send me is a small wallet size that doesn't even have me listed as her mother.
My question is, do you think I will have a problem traveling with her. I have her SS card, the birth cert. card and an insurance card that has both of our names on it.

So, My husband is in the army, getting posted at Ft. Drum. We wont move til January, but I'd like to get a head start on finding a school to go to! Im nineteen and in the air force reserves with no prior university schooling. I'd like to study marine biology or oceanography.. hopefully I can do this up there...I rather something near the post..but no community colleges...

I want to get an idea of what's available..but I will def. see the education office right away..hopefully if a school is kinda far, I can persuade my husband to live off base half way between.

Does anyone know, or is anyone on this forum an American expatriate? That is, you have either given up your American citizenship and taken up citizenship in another country or you have dual citizenship and live mostly abroad.

I am getting married next spring and with 2 kids and our jobs we wanted to stay close. We are from south east Wisconsin and was looking for something WAY up north in Wi. We are looking for nature, beauty, water (rivers, waterfalls) wildlife, out door activities (rafting, canoeing, hiking) just something you cant see or do here in SE WI. In my Japanese language book, it says I can use an i adjective with a noun e.g
Takai kuruma ja nai desu - It is not an expensive car.

My question is would it also be ok to use another form, e.g...

Takakunai kuruma desu - It is not an expensive car

Is that still correct?

Also how would you say it was not an expensive car...would

takakunakatta kuruma desu

be ok?
