I am getting married next spring and with 2 kids and our jobs we wanted to stay close. We are from south east Wisconsin and was looking for something WAY up north in Wi. We are looking for nature, beauty, water (rivers, waterfalls) wildlife, out door activities (rafting, canoeing, hiking) just something you cant see or do here in SE WI. Does anyone have any ideas, or recommend somewhere to go.

I agree with Pattison State Park. Then on your way back, try Burnett County. We've got the St. Croix River Scenic Riverway with lots of wildlife, canoeing, kayaking and camping activities. The Lilac Fest is in May (Siren) with activities for all. Check us out on-line (www.burnettcounty.comn).

I would suggest Ashland and the Apostle Islands, that area. I think Ashland is the neatest town in Wisconsin for some reason.

I would suggest Crivitz, Land O Lakes or Hayward.....all way up there, and completely relaxing places to be.......I work up there a lot, and have stayed at all of these numerous times.
