Visit the North End, which is similar to a Little Italy area for some great bakeries and Italian meals. Tour Fenway Park. Take a Duck Tour. If you like museums check out the Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science or MIT Museum. Great bars and night life. Good theaters, and could catch a great show, depends when you're going to be here obviously. Boston is a big walking city, so you can walk around Downtown Crosing, Newbury Street, the waterfront, and Quincy Market/Fanueil Hall areas for shopping and sites. The Boston Commona and Public Gardens are pretty for a stroll. If you're into history, walk the Freedom Trail and see sites like Old North Church, etc. Union Oyster House in Fanueil Hall is the oldest continually running restaurant in the country and has delicious food. Harvard Square has some fun shops and sites. Also, the Charles River is gorgeous for an evening stroll. If you're coming around Halloween check out the historic museum, and festivities of Salem. You'll have tons to do!!! Check out www.digitalcity.com/boston or www.boston.com for listings of events happening, etc. for things to do and local favorites.

LOVE Boston!! Not sure if they still do the Duck tours this time of year but if they do - definitely do that! Qunicy Market is a MUST. Old North Church is cool - so is the Beacon Hill tour. There is also the famous Cheers bar and there is a Hard Rock Cafe.
Also - since it is almost Halloween I would highly suggest you try and get to Salem! Salem is a trip around this time of year.

yes! there is so much history in Boston, walk the Freedom Trail and see all the revolutionary war stuff. then go to the public gardens, which are very nice since theyve been cleaned up. ride the duckboats, and go to the north end! its very quaint and has awesome food. you may want to ride a ferry from Boston to Martha's Vineyard or Cape Cod too, those are beautiful rides.

I just got back from there. Best thing to do is walk the freedom trail. It will take you to historical places and also allow you to see the city downtown and have lunch and/or dinner at some of the nice restaurants downtown, especially those down by the harbor. Try Legal Seafood

Harvard Square in Cambridge is cool. It's not quite as busy as downtown and has a pretty laid back environment. Go to Newbury Comics in The Garage for a good deal on CD's.
