Aruba....we flew UPS because it was cheaper, they were already going there anyway. Most people don't know about this, you have to ask your travel agent about it. And we did an all-inclusive so all the food and alcohol was included. For both of us to go round trip from Indiana, non-stop for 8 days and 7 nights was $2400.00. Other than that, las Vegas is actually a cheap vacation as long as you limit yourself on the gambling. There are more than enough things to do there other than gamble. Good Luck and where ever you go...Have FUN !!!

My favourite inexpensive vacation, Hatyai in Songkhla South Thailand but currently I don't know about the politcal sitiuation there.

My country Malaysia is having a Visit Malaysia Year 2007.
If you're into sight-seeing and shopping, my state Penang is the best. Check out the cost of your flight. Its relatively cheap here.

Your trip to Malaysia will start in KLIA or the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and take a connecting flight to Penang.

In Penang an average room for a 5 star hotel is only around USD90, a dorm or budget is around USD30.

In terms of variety and price. We have the branded goods like CK, Armani, JPG and more as well as trinkets and antiques. Tour shopping malls, bazaars, night markets and also sidewalk vendors. You are sure to find a bargain. FYI our Pewter is famous and is a must buy for tourist visiting Malaysia.

The food here is great and you will be spoiled for choice. Malay food, Chinese food, Indian food, Indian Muslim Food, Thai food and more. Be adventurous and try the sidestalls or stick with the restaurants you can't go wrong. A meal will cost around USD2 for the cheapest (A soft drink and food)

Yes, we have Mcd 24/7 for those unwilling to try or miss home.
A meal of a large bigmac, fries and coke will cost around USD3.

Malaysia is a former British colony and Penang has a rich legacy from that era. Come see our rich history.

What you need to know in advance.

1. Have good walking shoes.
2. Dress for a humid and hot climate
3. Bring along your diahorrea meds / antacid
(some travellers do get it spicy food and such)
4. Camera
5. A guide book for Malay but most of us can speak English.
6. Beach wear, its an island too!!!

Ok then. I think that's it. You can hire me as a guide to bring you around if you like. Good journey.

There are 5 of the deccameron hotels on the island that you can eat at with the all inclusive package. a reef a few hundred feet off shore is great for snorkeling. hotel-3.5* beach 4* food 4* fun 5* Try the scooters Cost for all incs. less than $1000 / person.

The year before we were married my husband and I went to West Virginia. We did a White Water Rafting package, that included one day rafting, a half day of rock climbing, four meals, and two nights camping. After our white water adventure we just drove through the state and checked out state parks, staying at one. It was very inexpensive -- probably around $700 including food, accommodations, and gas. We're very outdoorsy so it was perfect for us.

Here's a link to the rafting outfit we used if you're interested in something like that: http://www.rivermen.com A trip like this of course is better taken in late spring, summer, or early fall.

Negril, Jamaica was a blast. If your adventureous forget the all inclusives, hire a guide and tour the country, by dirtbike is the fun way. Same with Peurta Plata (ignore spelling) in the Dominican.
Very safe if you have a group or guide, but be careful if by yourself or a group of girls. Heard tons of great things about travelling in Costa Rica, going there next month....

my folks took me to Italy where we tied in with my two brothers (which were both over there and I hadn't seen in a while) then we toured around and I got to meet a bunch of cusins in longiand palermo (sicily), and milan and torino. Italians have such a sense of family. These were people that I had never met and that my parents had not seen in 30 some years yet they took us into their houses and fed us like we saw them every day. damn it, I just read the foot note, acutally my folks footed the bill so I didn't really pay a thing.... other than that climbing and hiking in southern utah is cheap and really fun!
