Kids have just discovered snoreklling. Looking to travel somewhere where we can snorkel without having to take a long boat ride to the reef like in the U.S. Keys. Thanks!

I have done some great snorkeling of the beach around Key Largo, John Pennekamp State Park, and around Marathon and Duck Keys. However, the best I have ever done is Maui.

Sosua in the Dominican Republic. Walk right out in the ocean with your fins and mask and see ons of fish. Also, Cable Beach in the Bahamas has some outrageous looking fish on small coral reefs and the best part is you can walk right out to them. The water is only about 3-4 feet deep and clear!! We snorkeled right in front of the Radisson Cable Beach and loved it!!

Grand Cayman is nice because it's surrounded by reefs. You can walk into water on seven mile beach and be able to snorkel and see some really colorful fish, baracuda and sometimes even a stingray(not that they are nice these days)

Curacao. Most of the Snorkling here takes place at the beaches. There are snorkling sites that are only accesible by boats, but most of the beaches have coral reefs perfect for snorkling not too far from shore.

Grand Cayman has great beach snorkle / diving. Cozumel has a few snorkle spots you can get to from the beach but boa snorking is better there.

best place i ever found to do this is GTMO Bay Cuba or Grand Caymen Islands and do they have clear water inthe caymens. Gtom has better coral formations. i spent three years in Gtmo and i went diving two to three times every week.
