Are you bi-lingual? It makes a big difference. Anything that is dealing with the public prefers bi-lingual.

Wages are low, rent is ridiculous, everything is expensive, crime is high. And Jeb.

The weather is great and drugs are cheap though. Don't know why I stayed so long after giving them up.

it's better if you know spanish (and creole in some places such as little haiti). wages overall are horrible (mostly depends on where you live). Teachers here get paid miserably. yet, there are some good schools with excellent teachers. if you're planning on living in a suburb that's outside Miami i highly recommend you don't move to Hialeah. drugs (especially weed) are a problem. anyone can by it anywhere (at school they're sold like hotcakes) and it's so cheap. most houses there are a piece of crap.apartments are ugly and yet so expensive. maintenance on them sucks. but overall people there are good people struggling to make a living. i recommend you move into Miami lakes. it's so much nicer and cleaner. as for Miami beach, all i know is that there's a high population of Jewish people. i don't know anything about crime rate or living standards over there. (i've provided some websites to help you there)
weather here is fine about 80% of the time. hurricanes aren't that bad (if you are properly equipped, you'll be fine.). car accidents are quite common. the beaches are wonderful. i love the diversity of people you see here: haitians, cubans, puerto ricans, fillipinos, whites, blacks, portuguese.all in all, it's not the worst place to live. it's an okay place to live in. it all depends on where you want to live at. :-) luck.
PS. shark attacks are not that common. lol. oh, and one thing i must warn you is that miami has a pretty high hiv/aids rate, so be careful with who you hang around with. but still, it's a great place to be at because of the different kind of peoples and cultures you get to be exposed to. oh, and lots of gorgeous people. ;-)

Can you be more specific, please?

from where? for work? Student?

You need the same things as if you move to any city.
Money. A job if possible. If you know people in town, much better.
Why are you moving? Taxes are too high, same as rent and properties. A ridiculous city in my opinion.
