My question is why is it that the government is going after Bonds and other baseball players for using steroids and not body builders? I mean it's illegal for people in the US to use steroids right? I can almost guarantee every professional body builder uses steroids. If it is illegal for Bonds and other baseball players to use steroids it is also illegal for body builders.

I think they do. With A-Rod making $300 million, how much will a mega superstar make in 10 years? $500 million?? Players are making too much and the salaries are only going to go up. I think Selig needs to make a maximum salary like the NBA has so fans can afford to go to games in 10 years. If this doesn't happen games will be so expensive no one will be able to go. I know the MLBPA won't approve it, but Selig can you use a best interest of the game clause to institute it.

Barry Bonds pretty much has admitted to taking steroids. But will he go to jail because he KNEW he was taking them?

""Therein lies the crux of the case: Not whether Bonds ever used steroids or performance-enhancing drugs, but whether federal prosecutors can prove he did so knowingly.""

Due to the fact that the Red Sox are taking too long to make the trade for Johan Santana? Now when I say pull a Tigers move I'm speaking in regards to the fact that the Tigers snagged Miguel Cabrera away from the Angels as the Angels took too long to make the move with the Marlins.

Ethier and Kemp are gonna be good, but Pierre is weak. I know he has 3 years left on his contract but wouldn't it be better to get rid of him and go with an Ethier, Jones and Kemp outfield and have Furcal at leadoff?

does it mean doom?
Remember in 2004 when the Red Sox were doomed because the Yankees signed some guy (an average player, think his name was like Allen Rodrigo) and the Red Sox were "doomed" how did that work out for them in '04?

well i know his numbers are average and probably not HOF worthy, but, he had many clutch hits throughout his career and also held many post season records when he retired.( bernie williams has since passed most of them). he is a first time canidate for the class of 2008 and in my opinion he should be in. he is in the top 100 in most offensive catergories and with his clutch performances and leadership in the dug-out, along with 14 solid years of play i think he deserves to be in. What do you think?

My question is do you think this 2008 team could exceed that mark?

I'm tired of hearing new stories on the news on which player has been linked to using steroids. I'm a serious baseball fan and i could care less who uses steroids. They have been using them for years and i don't understand why people are surprised by this. If you didn't know that Mark Mcgwire was using steroids when in the mid 90's just by looking at his body then you were in denial. I'm pretty sure it was very very common and may still be so i don't know what the big deal is all of the sudden these past couple years. Can't we just move on and forget about it. MLB just announced it made 6 billion dollars this year and this is after all these steroid allegations. That just goes to show most fans don't care about steroids and they don't want to hear about them. Fans like ballparks, exciting games, rivalries, HOME RUNS. Why can't we just accept the fact they used steroids and leave it at that. If the truth really came out you would be very surprised how many MLB Players used steroids

Pitching the ball and hitting it at two minutes per batting isn't really a sign of cheating to win.

To get cut, you have to have a contract and then be told that you aren't good enough to make the team; then, buyout clauses may apply. The Giants simply had enough of Barry's B.S. and when the contract expired, decided not to try to re-sign him, which is much different than being cut. Does anybody (intelligent) disagree?
