I think it was a good sign by LA. I think no matter what Andruw shows up, he will add much playoff experience to a line up, and a gold glove. Plus it gives them a hitter that can hit homers one of the biggest problems last year. 36 million could be a steal.

It depends on which Andruw shows up at Dodger stadium. The Andruw at his best a few years ago would be worth the investment, while the Andruw of the past few years would not. The Dodgers are betting $36 million that it is the former and not the later Andruw that comes to play.

the jury is still out for me andruw jones had his worst year last year with a .222 average but if you look at RBIs and HRs his numbers are higher than any other Dodger last year so I THINK it may be a good pick for the Dodgers. i guess we will have to see what happens

Considering the scarcity of CF talent out there, the only other choice that I thought would've been better was Aaron Rowand. But they obviously overlooked attitude and desire for Jones. Like Frizzer said, which Jones did the Dodgers gamble on?

Yes because now they can do better in the Pennant Chase plus they got Joe Torre as manager and Don Mattingly as Batting Coach so I see the NL west won by the Dodgers this year.

The Dodgers needed him just as an experienced player on the team. He's definitely not the best player offensively, but he's a solid defensive player. Decent pick up, I guess.

I think that getting Jones was a good choice. It was a good choice because they will have someone good defensively. The big question will be,who is going to play left?

He is still a Gold Glove outfielder, but that huge drop in hitting numbers/average should be a concern, especially at his age. I guess Torre sees it as a calculated gamble for a team that has lacked solid leadership in the clubhouse for several years.
