To get cut, you have to have a contract and then be told that you aren't good enough to make the team; then, buyout clauses may apply. The Giants simply had enough of Barry's B.S. and when the contract expired, decided not to try to re-sign him, which is much different than being cut. Does anybody (intelligent) disagree?

Yes, he is a free agent. His contract with the Giants ended, and the team chose not to re-sign him. I agree that that is different from being cut from the team.

Barry is a free agent. I don't know if the Giants had enough of his B.S. I think its a manor or salary and playing time. Right now Barry is best suited for DH. His defense is avg at best. Barry's bat is pretty good.

That is entirely correct my friend. The Giants only ever kept Barry around because they knew it would draw fans as he approached and passed Aaron's record. Now that he's got that record no one cares much about Bonds. Bonds contract ended, so the Giants told him good-bye.

You're right he's a free agent and will remain so at least until his perjury case is decided. The way things stand right now no team will touch him because it will create a PR nightmare to sign the posterboy of the steroid era no matter how well he can still hit.

Yeah, Bonds is a free agent and The Gigantes decided not to re-sign him. If he was under contract they would have to trade him or keep paying his salary and release him in hopes another team would pick up the owed money.

Basically correct. In one sense, he was cut - the Giants did not offer arbitration after he declared free agency, so essentially they declined his services. The decision for him to become a free agent wasn't his choice - it was the team's.

it is very different than being cut, they simply didn't want him, he's old and he's beat the record so they really don't need him for fansakes. and i'm pretty sure as a free agent he will never play again.

His contract came to an end and it was not renewed, this allowed him to become a free agent.

your correct. But people think different because he wanted to resign with them and they told him no way!!! So thats why people think that.because usually its the player turning down the offer from the team, this time it was the other way around!!
