Cabrera is a good player. Who have they got besides the pitcher from the White Sox?

Heck Yeah!!! I don't see any imaginable reason for that trade now that they weren't able to acquire Miguel Cabrera??? Let's hope that I'm wrong and that Reagins has something up his sleeve. But in all honesty, OC was one of my favorite players on the team. Not merely because of just his glove or clutch hitting, but I thought it was amusing how his "on deck" music was always either 50 cent or G-Unit.

while you're an Angels fan then check out Brandon wood. He replaced right into a 1st around draft %. some years in the past and the Angels' magnificent prospect. He performed alright interior the minors final 365 days at shortstop, however the only clarification why he did no longer play replaced into because of the fact of Cabrera. The Angels needed a glass so why no longer commerce Cabrera, whos getting old, and play their ultimate prospect.

I think the Angels traded away a great player. He was good with the stick (not a lot of power but a run producer) and a good defender. John Garland is one of the most over rated players in baseball. The angels defenitely should have gotten the likes on Mark Buerhle or some other hitter thrown in with Garland.

The fact that they traded him for an overrated pitcher who is also soft would make me mad if I were an Angels fan. I live in the midwest and see almost all of the White Sox games and I can't believe they traded him for Jon Garland.

no, as an angel fan im not pissed at all, remember oc was going to be a free agent at the end of the year anyway, and the angels, with aybar, izturis and wood all waiting in the wings, werent going to resign him, now we get a quality starting pitcher to take his place, remember, as good as the angels starting pitching already was, we have had a bit of a problem with starting performances in the playoffs, none of our guys were having shut down performances last season, but we did have shut down performances against us by the white sox starters in '05, one of whom was jon garland
getting a shut down starter for the playoffs in exchange for a player at a position you have a glut of talent at, is a good move
now of course we will miss oc, he was a fantastic player and brought so much leadership and ability to the team, but there will be no leadership vaccum, with garret, kotchman, mathis, and of course our new addition, torri (whos best aspect, it seems, may be his humour and leasdership abilities) i think that trade was just fine, and hey, it sure beat the pants off bill stonemans first trade as angels gm....... the jimmy edmonds deal

Good return for a player heading into a contract year, they will still be making more deals and they are also going to look at the youth!

The Angels are not done in putting together the 2008 roster. I would suggest you hold off on your anger until you see how they are going to address the shortstop issue, you might turn out to be very pleased.
