Yes, last season's Pierre signing is one of those deals that should never have been made. I questioned it at the time, and I don't think anyone should have been surprised that he went out and had yet another lousy year.
Moving him would be smart because it would free up space for both Ethier and Kemp to become regulars, but it will be tough to do unless the Dodgers are willing to pay some of his remaining salary. I think people see the .301 career batting average and get fooled by it, not realizing that his OBP hasn't been above .331 for the past three seasons, which is unacceptable for a guy you count on to get on base.

Why does everyone hate on Pierre? Ok, he got paid too much, but what else is new with the Dodgers? I think if LA had more power in their lineup then Pierre could flourish. He's a lead-off hitter. Who did they have to back him up last year? Their biggest bat was Kent who barely got 20 homers. I think people might change their minds after this year since they've now got Jones and Loney will earn at least 20 home runs next year, not to mention Kent and let's not forget Kemp.
I think instead of getting rid of Pierre, they should trade Ethier and some of their younger prospects for a SP or 3B. To be fair, I totally agree with your lineup. But the possibility that they could trade Pierre is remote at best.

Torre has rather reported that he won't be paying for and advertising Juan Pierre and as a exchange will sit down him, and Pierre has been begging to the two be interior the commencing lineup or be traded to the place he could be a starter. As a first rate person, i could do the latter. Juan Pierre has been a sturdy (greater beneficial than sturdy) participant for the Dodgers and his type do not lie. He merits a commencing spot, and if not with the dodgers, with yet another team.

Getting rid of Juan would be a good (and necessary) move, but he's still a decent player and a monster on the base paths. What team will take that contract though with that little production (OBP, average) for a top of the order hitter? Not many. You'd pretty much have to give him away, and I just don't see that happening.

Yes. He is just blocking the way of Kemp and Ethier.

Pierre might be included in a trade before the season starts.

I'd get rid of him for Jeff Weaver.
