i heard that in his new contract there is a clause that should the yankees make the postseason then he is to be left off the postseason roster. i think its a great idea. the yankees will have a better chance of winning in the playoffs and A-rod can avoid embarrassing himself on a big stage once again. what do you think?

Something I just cant figure, baseball players earn a fortune but most of the games play to tiny crowds, sure a couple of exceptions, other sports where the salaries are huge play to full stadiums, without TV money baseball players would earn a tiny fraction of what they are paid, so my question is...

since people basically dont go to live baseball games, perhaps they have no interest, so why do the TV companies pay a fortune to show a sport that people dont want to see?..based on the fact most games play to tiny crowds...I said most not all, NYY and perhaps another couple are an exception.

I have heard that Lance Parrish will manage the AA Red City Strikers of the Mississippi Central League this season. Has anyone heard that too. I have looked everywhere but can find nothing out about it.

What about Ernie Banks and Ron Santo? What about the multitude of Hall of Famers NOT on a World Series winning team? Isn't it PITCHING that has been the bane of the Yankees' post season? Or is Ted Williams undeserving of his MVP and his Hall of Fame selection? What gives?

Eric Wedge deserved to be named AL Manager of the Year. I am sure others will disagree because there is always a miscreant out there somewhere but I say kudos to you, Eric. Props to Wedge, anyone?

There is a solid outfielder playing in Japan by the name of Kosuke Fukudome that wants to come to MLB and the Cubs are interested. In addition, the Cubs are also interested in three very good pitchers from Japan by the names of Hitoki Iwase, Kenshin Kawakami, and Hiroki Kuroda. Fukudome could come to the Cubs in 2008 and the others in 2009. Maybe the Cubs could win their first world series in 100 years if they get these players, how would you Cubs fans feel about that?

I hate this guy so much, I'll cheer any team playing against the Yankees in the playoffs now. He is a total loser, and the fact the Yankees will continue to pay him for losing is disgusting. This is just one more reason I hate watching pro sports now.

Damnnn

what if they re-sign him for 10 years 300 million dollars like reports are out to be and then he gets injured and never becomes the same player again...that would so suck

I mean dude's got an excellent work ethic and keeps himself in tip top shape but it would be a shame if it happened to him and the Yankees or whatever team he goes to

Do hitters hit themselves on the leg more now after swinging at the ball now then in past decades?
I dont remember players from the 70's and 80's wearing leg protection and I don't remember so many of them falling down at the plate after fouling the ball off their leg.

This isn't a silly comparison question. I am not saying that Cricket is the better game. So, no jokes & give a serious answer.

Cricket used to be time consuming game but now there is a new version of cricket popularly known as 'Twenty20 CRICKET'.

A twenty20 game finishes in 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Now basic thing in cricket & baseball is the same & that's hitting the ball with the bat and running for points

American & Canadian cricket teams are there in the top20 (in cricket) but we can only have 16 teams in a cricket world cup.

Infact Canada made it to the 50-50 cricket world cup in 2003.
America was a part of of ICC (International Cricket Council) champions trophy in 2004.

So, these teams are there but still not in the elite group of nations.

Cricket is right now is second only to Soccer when it comes to viewership.

The major cricket playing nations are - India, Australia, England, South Africa, Pakistan , Caribbean countries , New Zealand, Sri Lanka

Cheers!!!

You know how close this deal is to getting done thats right you dont cuz u do not read around and get everything around the league. Everytime I look it gets closer to being done. Believe it it is highly plausable to happening whether anybody likes it or not. His stateent is a little sketchy but every baseball players in it for the money now a days. So what else is your opinion just face it coming back to me for him is about a 70% chance. Im right on the edge of celebrating.

(A-rod, A-Jones, and Carlos Beltran, and Dice-K to name a few) and he pretty much sells his players to the highest bidder
