If the Sox don't re-sign Lowell and don't aquire Arod or Cabrera who plays 3rd next year. Do they have anyone coming up through their system

I am confident that they will sign Lowell, especially if the Yanks really do keep Arod, then Boston will up their offer

They really need to sign Lowell. Your question is what if they don't:
3B Youk
1B Manny
LF Jacoby
That is using just current personnel. Yaz moved from LF to 1B later in his career. Maybe it's time for Manny.

I love mike lowell but the sox should stand their ground and not give him the 4th year.

The Sox will most likely work out a 4th year for him and he'll re-sign. My opinion.

Having a gold glove first baseman move to 3rd is almost as dumb as the Yankees making a gold glove SS play 3rd base. I dont know what they will do but it wont involve Youk moving there.
