Eric Wedge deserved to be named AL Manager of the Year. I am sure others will disagree because there is always a miscreant out there somewhere but I say kudos to you, Eric. Props to Wedge, anyone?

Wedge did an amazing job this year. He deserved it, but im a yankees fan, and to see Joe Torre nowhere near the top with votes seemed unusual. The comeback he and the yankees made throughout the season amazing, and you cant disagree with that. Everyone counted the yankees out, and they came back.
Now Terry Francona of the Red Sox deserved it too. If i remember correctly, Terry Francona finished third in the Manager of the year award when he finished with the same record as Eric Wedge's club did.
Wedge made gold out of his players. With the payroll the Indians have, and the way they played this year, i can understand why he won the award. Congrats to Wedge.

He deserved it because he gets his players to gel! As an Indians fan though I STILL am NOT sold on Eric Wedge's knowledge of the game. It was amazing that the entire Boston series he made almost zero offensive changes the entire series. Plus during the regular season he probably managed his way into 5 loses on calls he made. That's down from the 15-20 from the year before, but still games that we should have won. He is better than Hargrove though. He did EVERYTHING by the book and nothing from his heart. Great to see Cleveland getting recognition though. I would have rather had the ring and no trophies though!

Wedgie did a great job with the team he had. Remember, Hafner had an off year, and Sabathia and Carmona played poorly in the playoffs. If the team was solid for the whole season, they had a WS champ. Anyway, as far as Torre and Francona go...with the payroll they have...they are expected to win...all the time...Heck, I could manage them to a championship...how hard is it to pencil in that lineup every day? (so I think they are out of MOY based on that). Go Tribe!!

crimson, I could say absolutley a hundred% no he should not be. The group has have been given those wins, his handling ability is common at desirable. He irritates me. once you have not have been given the experience sufficient to have adult adult males bunt with a runner on 1st and no outs atleast especially circumstances...I blame him for the hunch in August. You, as a supervisor, might desire to be ingenious in looking information on the thank you to manufacture runs. look on the way Kenny Lofton does it, he's affected person and could bunt adult adult males over. What, Sizemore would be unable to bunt? Peralat would be unable to bunt? those 2 our 2 of the main important strikeouts kings in MLB, i could quite see them pass runners by ability of bunting, then strikeout. those are Wedge calls. I additionally think of he leaves pitchers in too long after that's quite sparkling they are out of gasoline, or they have not got their stuff going. A pass he hasn't completed and could be doing is having Borowski being utilized in relief and Betancourt as a closer. that's sparkling to all and sundry who is conscious baseball which you do not opt for Borowski saving a million-2 runs pastime in October. Betancourt might want for use like Mariano Rivera has been used interior the playoffs...a 2 inning closer at situations. deliver him interior the 8th and enable him end it. Wedge has too lots unproven have confidence in Borowski. With that pronounced, i'm an Indians fan of direction, i'm merely not a Wedge fan. He has the Indians fairly lacking while it is composed of standard baseball. the desirable pass he has made these days isn't letting Cliff Lee's disgruntled (I in no way deserved to be demoted) butt pitch. he's a real fool if he does. credit the Indians as a set, not Wedge as a supervisor. i could kill to have a supervisor like Jim Leyland....we' be sitting at ninety wins desirable now.
