He's on to where one of Babe Ruth's rings is hidden in the stadium. He plans to dig it up and claim it as his own.

The boy got smart. We didn't care if he came back. We could have found someone to replace him. Not his totals but the Yankees always find ways to win. The rest of the team would have picked up the slack. And look how much it's going to cost him. We have 3 young arms that will take us all the way to the WS. New York Yankees=World Series Champions '08!!!!!!!!!!

PS Last Century? Who's the idiot with the Tigers symbol saying they're a White Sox fan??? Yankees are always in the mix and you disgruntled "others" can't be the best so you have to hate the best

Honestly, Coming from a Red Sox fan, it's all about the $$$.

The Yankees have the team makeup to be in the mix every year and he has a shot at a WS Ring every year there, but, they've been overspending for aging and failing players (Damon, Giambi, etc) and may be making the same mistake with Posada and / or Rivera. It should be interesting either way.

I think he just doesnt want to be hated, otherwise if he wanted a world series, even if I am a yankees fan, id say best choice is to not re-sign with yankees. Sign with the Mud Hens, get called up by tigers, and win a world seires their

Just because he wears a uniform and gets to stride the diamond, why should Rodriguez be any more clear-sighted than the millions of fans with pinstriped glasses bolted to their heads?

I don't care where he signs, but this co-dependency with the Yankees, particularly the next-gen Steinbrenners (who may want to start off their regime with a positive splash, like signing ARod), is just weird. Bold statement after statement from both sides, and now making kissy-nice under "no agent" conditions? Weird. (Unless it's a secret Boras plan: "Alex, get in there and pretend to bend over and get their offer. They'll overpay anyway, and then we can take those numbers to Anaheim and the others." "Sounds good, Scott." -- There, that oughta set off some pre-coffee paranoia this fine Thursday.)

Still slightly hoping for the Cubs as his destination, as those fans would truly appreciate a championship.

You dont think that in a 100 years the yankees will win WS? Thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

As far as they yankee's they'll be back on top in no time. Once they secure some young talent and a few good pitchers they'll be on their usual run.

He doesnt. He wants the money more, but he LOVES the Yankees obviously a little more then 350 million dollars.

A-Rods going to be a Yankee. I will bet on it. Man, this is so good. Wow...

well if he signs for 10 years chances are quite good he will have one or more rings since the yankees are willing to spend money

he is more likely staying with the yankees than the alternatives (other than boston)

i think boston is the only other team that can take on his salary and not really take a hit to the rest of their teams spending power, and boston seems to not be willing to spend, aparently

Odds are against what you stated but I'll let you bask in your delusions. The Yankee's will win more championships than any other team this century! I know it is hard to grasp but there is no bigger stage in baseball than the Yankee's. Arod has a good home in NY, why would he want to play for a second rate team any where else? Why do you have white sox fan when you have a tigers emblem up are you a bandwagon jumper?
