It's really a moot point. Boras works for A-Rod and A-Rod will get this thing done. Boras will probably get a cut of it (although somewhat less this time) because of his mistake that allowed this to happen in the 1st place.
Everything will be fine, the Yanks young pitching will be servicable, we'll use Pettite and Mussina to protect them and we'll be alive and well in the postseason. Winning it all? I honestly doubt that, but the year after next is a very good possibility once we sign Santana. (or whoever else is available at that time)

I'm sorry, but talk about shooting yourself in the foot! Boras shot for the stars with the 350 million bull, then Arod probably realized that he wasn't going to get that anywhere else, so he goes crawling back to the Yankees who will pay him more than anyone else anyway...
The worst part, for the Yankees, is that they lose the 20 million or so that the Rangers were giving them.
The worst part, for Arod, is that he won't be offered as much as the extension that the Yankees wanted to give him.
The worst part, for Boras, is that he finally found the ceiling of how stupid the owners really are and the players will (hopefully) fire him en masse now.

Alex Rodriguez can do sole talks while under contract. Greg Maddux another Boras client did that with the Padres. Boras just has to be there when the deal is signed. If I were Alex I'd can Boras and get an agent like Henricks.

Boras has nothing to do with the Yankees or baseball in general. If A-Rod wants to dump him, he has every right to do so. If A-Rod wants to work a deal with the Steinbrenners and Wayne Cashman, he is free to do so.
If it wasn't for Boras, A-Rod wouldn't be in this mess. The real problem for A-Rod now is that since Boras talked him into declaring free agency, the Rangers are not obligated to pay the remaining $21M to the Yankees to supplement his salary.
If the Yankees do agree to make a deal with A-Rod, they will have to pay 100% of his salary. I'm sure the Yankees didn't appreciate that one bit. You can bet that the Yankees will take that $21M under consideration.

I just heard on Mike and The Mad Dog that if A-Rod fires Boras then it's be okay for him to negotiate his own contract. It is also alright if A-Rod tells Boras NOT to come to the negotiation meetings. But the Yankees telling Boras he couldn't come to the meetings was a violation. I think it's stupid, really.

I dont think it should be a violation. Basically, Yankees as the employers are telling a candidate a condition for negotiation. A-Rod is free to negotiate the contract himself or he can hire another agents to deal with the Yankees. If it is, then it is strange.

I think so. I am sure Boras will get a cut somewhere in this.

relevance, akin the sublime efforts of the third parties and the ones to follow, where money flows like water in the very rivers of the dreary world of sports, the much coveted agents are the ones with the much coveted situations and the much coveted dollar amounts. Despite the anger, frustration that appeats from the cranium of the very angered people who detest, deject and cannot digest the very notion of quite possibly the most coveted ball player in the very history of this hypothetical perfect money laden world, the faintest idea of , or dare I say, the slightest hope of blossoming of the stardom, is not irrelevant afterall.

There is no requirement that a player use an agent, even if he has one under contract.

I dont see why it would be. A-Rod should have every right to speak for himself if he wants. After all, it is HIS contract, not Bore-***'
