There is a solid outfielder playing in Japan by the name of Kosuke Fukudome that wants to come to MLB and the Cubs are interested. In addition, the Cubs are also interested in three very good pitchers from Japan by the names of Hitoki Iwase, Kenshin Kawakami, and Hiroki Kuroda. Fukudome could come to the Cubs in 2008 and the others in 2009. Maybe the Cubs could win their first world series in 100 years if they get these players, how would you Cubs fans feel about that?

I am not sure that any of them mean a for sure title! Look at the track record of the "great players form Japan", the only one to have consistent greatness is Ichiro, he is phenominal! Other than that you have Nomo (a few good years), Irabu (all hype), Sasaki (came too late in career), Dice-K(jury is still out as he has had only one year) Johkima (can't stay on the field long enough to tell). So many others that are medicore at best, they started out to change the Majors but in reality the Latins have had a much more lasting effect.

I think the Cubs should keep their name the way it is. it would be great to have those pitchers because that's what the team needs right now. Then they could go to the playoffs again next year, and then go to the WS an win it!

Whatever they have to do to win a title, I'll support them... WHY should they change their name? The Red Sox, Yankees, Mariners all have Japanese players on their rosters...
Except I don't want A-Rod...

It doesn't matter who they get but they need more than a name change.
