Report: Yankees Offer Manager Job To Joe Girardi
NEW YORK (CBS) ― The Yankees may have their new manager.
The team has offered their managerial job to former Yankee catcher Joe Girardi, and he is expected to accept it, according to a report on ESPN Radio.
Also in the report, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman informed coaches Don Mattingly and Tony Pena that they will not be getting the job.
A source said Girardi is expected to fly to New York for the official announcement, which is likely tomorrow.
Girardi's contract is expected to be in the three-year, $6 million range.
