Do you guys wish you had traded him away last year after he went on a big slump in the playoffs against the tigers?

Are the Yankee fans happy he and his big fat contract is gone?

Or do you guys wish he stayed?

Is he worth all that money?

Well anything goes here...kinda like a mini forum/discussion. About A-rod , Yanks and the possibility of the Red Sox signing him to avenge losing Johnny Damon

As a Yank fan I have some mixed feelings.

Great player hate to see his production go.
He has done nothing in post season play.
Way over paid for what you get (Actually all Pro athletes are but that is a different topic)

I doubt the Sox will sign him. I honestly don't think he will help that team.

Let me first say I am not a Yankee fan.....and say I dont blame A Rod for opting out at all......The Yankees are falling apart all around him...why would he want to stay there?.....The ownership is a dinosaur who needs to step down....Cashman is an idiot who didnt address the Yankees biggest need last year...PITCHING...which haunted them all season long.....the Yankees should have used their money to go after some young arms for their pitching staff to build for their future....not invest more money in a part time playing Clemens...game after game their pitching, especially starting, let them down....
I love how many Yankee fans try to trash A Rod leaving...saying he is overrated and everything....let me tell you guys without A Rod...... you guys would have been a complete disaster last season and wouldnt have been close to making the playoffs....he carried you with all of Home Runs and RBIs......by far, he was your best player last year....by far.....so, mock him all you want...like you did for the past few seasons even though he carried your whole organization on his back this season......I am happy for him to get away from an organization........... with a Dinosaur owner and is 2yr old antics of attacking his coaches and players throughout the season.....with a team full of players who never truely respected him......and to thousands of Yankees fans who taunted their own star every night he took the field......he deserves to work for a better organization then the Arrogant Yankees organization.....and he deserves to be treated better by his own team's fans and NY media......prepare for many dark days Yankee fans because they are coming!

P.S. Just so you know, I am not a Red Sox fan either.....

A-Rod came to the Yankees to make an obscene amount of money and to cement his claim to being one of the greatest ballplayers ever by excelling in post season games
On the first point he succeeded
On the second point he failed miserably and revealed his true worth.
The word is out ; any team that wants to actually win a WS will run not walk away from A-Rod
In the end A-Rod will make less money and wind up on a team that is more interested in getting TO the playoffs rather than actually winning them
I wonder if A-Rod likes the great brats of Milwaukee ?
As a Yankee fan, I'm glad he's gone

Not a yankee fan, it's much too easy.

However, they couldn't have traded him for 2 reasons, no trade clause that he would have to waive and no one else was that stupid.

For his money, you can get 2 or 3 guys that cummulatively add up to better value than Arod alone.

No, he's not worth all that money.

Avenging a loss of something that they also do to other teams is a pointless focus. Should other teams avenge against Boston for the FA the Red Sox sign, of course not, it's business.

I don't think the Red Sox will sign him. It would take 27-30 million per year. They don't want to pay that much which is the reason they didn't get him 4 years ago. The union wouldn't let him restructure his contract to come here.

Honestly, im thrilled that he's left.

It's not only the post season that he sucked in, it was during the reular season too. Just because he hit a lot of homeruns doesn't mean anything. He was an all or nothing kind of player and the yankees don't need that

I'm sad to see him go however if he goes over to the Darkside aka Red Sox. I will hate him forever and ever.

I'm very upset. I really wanted him to stay a Yankee.

No one is worth the money he wants. That being said i could care less if he leaves. If he wants to go then go!
