The last 3 weeks the Chargers have been every bit as dominant as the colts and patriots, now they have Chris Chambers and they really seem to be in their groove like they were last year, is it safe to say that they are back?

The Chambers trade gives them an actual threat in the passing game to complement the reigning MVP's work on the ground. The Chargers will be a threat in the post season for either the Colts or Pats.

It is true the Chargers haven't exactly beaten tough opponents. Oakland, Houston, Chicago... so the jury is still out on them.

Although you have to give the Chargers a fair amount credit for beating Denver. Denver is not a bunch of scrubs and greenhorns out there... You all saw how Denver took down the Steelers.

I think the Chargers at this point can take down the Colts in a well-contested game. On the other hand; the Chargers don't appear to have any kind of answer for New England; at least now.

Even if Rivers didn't throw a single interception in the Charger game against New England; it looks like the Chargers still would have lost. The problem is that Moss seems to be simply faster than Cromartie, Florence, and Jammer.

In fact -- Moss was being double covered by a corner and safety, and -still- was able to make plays against the chargers.

I feel that Indy's chances of beating N. England are much greater than the Chargers. But the Chargers have a fighting chance (assuming they make it into the playoffs) if another team is paired with New England in the playoffs early; and there is an upset. That would mean the bolts wouldn't have to play the Pats.

A very real possibility. With respect to New England, you are watching a horse in a distance race burn out all his energy early. Also, complacency will kick in. Face it: Tom Brady is not afraid to pass the ball into double coverage. I've seen him do it enough times already... But it's going to burn him, eventually.

Sure, the Patriots may win 5 -7 more games. But nobody plays perfectly forever.

And I predict that the time the Pats finally come apart is about the same time as the playoffs begin. Also, by that time, there will be a lot more tape to watch on the Patriots for opposing team coaches.

Chargers have a great guy in Chambers. They have a lot of talent--whether or not they are going to succeed, it is really up to them.

That's been a big topic of conversation on the radio here in SoCal.

The biggest change they seem to be pointing to is that Rivers and Norv Turner seem to be on the same page finally.

Whether it was a personality clash, or Rivers wasn't buying what Turner was selling, it now seems they have things going the right direction.

The Colts game will be a perfect litmus test for them.

no not yet.. the 4 wins that they have, have come from some not so good teams.. they beat Chicago, Denver, Oakland, and Houston.. those teams aren't exaclty studs.. they did on the other hand lose to 3 fairly solid teams in New England, Green Bay, and Kansas City. I want to see them beat a tough team or at least play well against a tough team before i say they are back.

They seem to be getting back to something resembling last season's form. As a Broncos fan, it concerns me a bit. But I'm confident that Denver will have something to prove the next time we meet.

SD has a good team. I'm not sold on Rivers though.

Sure, though the real test will come in two weeks when the Colts come to San Diego.

I wouldn't say they are back, but I will give them credit for beating teams that they should beat handily at home.
