It seems to me that i note many [so-called] "experts" who write publicly about the game seem to have little fairness and reality in their perceptions and comments regarding 'the Greats' of all-time.

I note, this morning, for instance, that as I read a Wik comment on Chris Evert-Lloyd that the writer they refer to considers the 3 greatest female players of all time to be:
Stefi Graf
Martina Navratilova
Chris Evert-Lloyd

Now, you may say, "Well, Graf isn't American"...
That maybe true, but 2 things:
Her 'generation' has been one where the advances of modern technology has allowed commentators all over the world easy armchair access to the top players of the circuit.
Secondly, surely her long-tme Agassi relationship has penetrated American heart at one level or another.

Navratilova spent most of her playing years in America.

I have even heard various other American commentators claim the 'honor' of top spot for Billy-Jean King!

Now, my obvious objection to all this rating is that surely a more realistic and objective analysis reveals that Margaret Smith/Court, of Australia, was the greatest all-around player of all time, without question.

She won by far, the most number of Grand slam tournaments, and she won them anywhere!
She also won the most women's doubles titles, and took out her solid share of mixed doubles tournaments as well.
She proved that she could win anywhere, with any partner and under any type of condition.
REALISTICALLY, SHE HAS TO BE TOPS??

This is not a keeper league. Who will be the better fantasty producer? Both put up big numbers last year. I know Mauer will hit for a higher average, but McCann will likely hit for more power. If you had both on your fantasy team, which one would you trade?

3 to 3 tie in the bottom of the 9th inning, bases loaded, no outs:
If the batter hits a home run, the final score is 7-3.
If the batter hits a ground rule double, the final score is 4-3.
Why shouldn't it be 5-3 according to the "ground rules?
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
a confused baseball fan

There were many collegiate football players that went undrafted in the recently concluded NFL draft. A number of them, Kyle Shotwell from Cal - Poly, Enoka Lucas from Oregon, Melvin Bullit from Texas A & M, the two players from the 2007 Fiesta Bowl champion Boise State Broncos Brad Lau and Jared Zabransky, and Tala Esera from Hawaii, were of exceptional pedigree but their names were never called to the podium at Radio City Music Hall this weekend. Is it possible for these players to make an NFL team without being drafted ?

Come on admit it, the Patriots are threatened by the Colts (my hometown and favorite team), and you should be. Come on, your team was so threatened by the Colts that you did everything possible to sign as many players as you can that MIGHT help get you back to beating the Colts (but I doubt it :)) which you rarely do and then to top it all off you sign the team killer Randy Moss to your team thinking that the combination of Donte Stallworth and Randy Moss can beat the Pro Bowl team of Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne and that is laughable. Harrison, unlike Moss, has not slowed down since day one and Wayne is getting so good that he has a legitimate shot at being a Hall of Famer, there is no competition. We as Hoosiers don't rub it in much but this is funny. I mean when you think about it the Patriots are the Yankees of the NFL (LOL), where they sign all the veteran players praying that they can beat their rival (us).

Please hear me out: I'm a huge Smoke fan, and I am also an honest fan. We all know that Tony can have a temper, and he says what is on his mind. To me, that's totally fine. I like his fire, and I look foward to hear what he has to say about things. However, I do oppose extremely bad language or something like that. Other than that, whatever drivers have to say is something I want to hear, no matter what.

Now, what is NASCAR doing? Tony Stewart is getting WAY too much attention these days. The man hasn't done something absolutely out of control...he's just frustrated about not winning! He's mad about about silly cautions for no reason, too! Wouldn't ANY driver? Why does NASCAR make all the drivers into the same person who can't speak their mind? I mean, on TV I've seen outraged people about what Tony said about caution flags! That is insane! What are they doing to the sport? It's going to be really boring really fast if they keep this up. I'm tired of it...
