Okay, i'm a football player, and i'm not some rugby player saying pads are for sissies, but why should football players wear pads? i mean the helmets probably increase the risk of injury to the person they're hitting if you make a direct hit with the facemask somewhere. I mean rugby can be played w/o pads and it's just as physical a game. and maybe we could just wear visors to protect someone's eyes from being poked out or something and that would be it. I mean we wear helmets to protect from shoulder pads and shoulder pads to protect from helmets?

I know a huge part of the problem is that my spine angle changes as I enter the impact zone; My head and body starts to come up to avoid hitting the shot fat. But if I try and maintain that spine angle and not come up, the club instead will hit 6 inches behind the ball, catching all grass and the ball doesn't go anywhere.

Any suggestions would be helpful: drills, points to look at in the swing, etc.

For example you set your foot in a dojo, how old would the instructor have to be for you to at least stick around to ask questions and check out the class?

I'd be pretty suspicous of anyone who is under 30, but... I've been in few and currently am in class where the instructor is not 30 yet. However if it's the case, they usually have more than one instructors. I train at two different gyms, one of the gym have four instructors and all of them aren't 30 yet. But I trust them because there's so many coaches that they keep eachother in check. Plus all of them have lot of experience in combat sport and can prove it. My other class, the instructor is around 30 years old.

Do you think it is right for there to be cuts for a cathlic grade school basketball team? There are enough players to make four teams, which is extremely difficult to handle. Do we have cuts? I mean this way we have an appropriate number of teams and kids will be playing the sports they are good at for highschool, or is this a time where it's just for fun and it wouldnt be right to make cuts.
