I have a 11 year old Chris King headset that has been smooth, troublefree, and hasn't been adjusted since it was installed. It replaced a Ritchey headset which lasted for a year.

-light
-durable
-smooth
-use super bearings and bearing races
-lock in to its proper adjustment
-initial outlay is more but is cheaper over the long run as it doesn't need adjustment or replacement along with the labor costs
-comes in several colors, in threaded or aheadset style, 1" and 1 1/8" sizes
-low stack height

Chris King will not make an integrated headset for reasons outlined in their website.

Solid, high quality bearings and solid construction with attention to tolerances, etc. Simply put - they'll last pretty much forever if you take care of them. There's a reason (and it's not sponsorship) that Pro Tour teams like Discovery use them, and they're spec'd on pretty much any high-end custom-built bike. And yes, I have King headsets on all my bikes.

What everybody says, but as to be worth it? Depends on what you're building. I wouldn't upgrade an existing bike (unless you're current one breaks or something). If you're building a bike, maybe, depends on your budget. I think there are several other very good choices for half the cost. Maybe they'll last half as much, but even then, it's failing in a looong time..

They are Machined to the 1/10,000 of an inch, and have a 10 years Warranty only - NOT LIFETIME...

Superior construction and a LIFE TIME GUARANTEE. They are definitely worth the money.

Yes they are worth it. The bearings they use and how it's designed.....simply the best. Comes in alot of cool colors too. If you are going integrated....go with FSA.
