"God is a big fat slob. The world is held up on the back of an elephant. God was born of a virgin. God is all over the place. Which one can you disprove? Which lie do you believe?

I've been told Yes by some people and No by others. What is your opinion? If you could back this up with the bible that would be awesome.

Are you aware that there is just as much evidence proving that evolution occurs as there is that gravity exists? How do you reconcile all the observations of evolution occurring with your belief that it doesn't occur. I'm asking because I don't really understand how a person decides to trust an old book over their own senses.

Side question: If the Bible said that the sky is not blue, would you believe it, or would you believe your own eyes?

When I was a missionary in Japan (for the LDS church), I was instructed not to teach some Islamic men about my church, because if they converted to Christianity, they would face intense persecution, maybe even death, at the hands of their family and friends when they returned to the Middle East.

Is this true? I'm looking for honest answers from Muslims with first-hand knowledge about Middle Eastern culture and traditions. I suppose it depends on the country and the religious group, so please excuse my ignorance.

Thank you.

I mean really, if the three parts of the Godhead are the same, does this mean that the yolk is the shell? Or that the shell is the white? Or that you take the whole thing, crush and scramble it all together, and you get God?

Very confusing.

Would you rather sin or follow God? I mean like your the last person on earth. Would you want to sin, have fun a party by yourself or follow God and do what Will Smith did on the movie I Am Legend.

If you vote for Romney, there is a good chance you will never die.

Follow my logic. You need a rudimentary knowledge of eschatology to understand me though.

(1) If Romney becomes president, then the entire world won't take us seriously because of the absurdity of the Mormon religion.

(2) As a result, our nation will no longer become a supernation, and Europe will unite as a single united entity and become the most powerful nations. This is a precursor to the rise of the AntiChrist.

(4) Knowing how pluralistic Romney will be, he will be all for the building of the Third temple for Jerusalem, and fund for its rapid construction. This is also a precursor to the rise of the AntiChrist. His identity will be known right after the rapture.

(5) Once the Third temple is built, the rapture will occur, and all the believers of Jesus will be taken up into heaven. Dead or alive.

(6) Therefore, if you vote for Romney, there is a good chance you will never die.

"Christ died for our sin." That is one of the basic teachings of Christianity. The Bible contrasts Adam with Jesus and says,1 Corinthians 15:22...For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive. By laying down his life, Jesus paid the price for the sin that we inherited from Adam. So if we doubt that " in Adam all are dying," how can we hope that " in Christ all will be made alive"?

JOHN W asked for Jews to answer his post which enquired which of the 'prophecies' in the 'old' testament/Tanakh Jesus fufilled. About eight Jews gave accurate, polite and logical answers.
JOHN W then gave 'best response' to a Christian who utterly dismissed the Jewish interpretation of THEIR OWN BIBLE.

Does this make sense to me? Surely I'm not the only one who thinks this is madness? It's like me asking for Hindus to please explain something about their faith - and then ignoring them and listening instead to someone not even of that religion!

There can be no purpose in an eternal heavenly life as everything is provided. What exactly can be so grand about purposelessness for eternity? Oh I'm sure you will be able to do things but they will serve no purpose. How can they? How can you find joy in that? It would have to be an artificial purposeless joy.

No? Then why judge Islam by jihadists and those that hurt and kill? Why assume that those who preach hate in Christianity are the whackos, but those who preach hate in Islam MUST be the accurate representations of their religion?
