I believe there were two sets of prayers going on inside the 9/11 airliners: one set was being offered in the cockpit to Allah by a handful of men. Meanwhile, dozens of men, women and children in the cabin were no doubt praying just as fervently to the Christian God.

Well, we know the outcome. What does it all say about the power of prayer.

This is history of the Trinity doctrine development.

In 325 AD, the Council of Nicaea got together at a time when the Roman Empire was under Roman Catholic influence and pagan worship was rife in the Empire.
But it did not establish the Trinity, for at that council there was no mention of the holy spirit as the third person of a triune Godhead.
The Council of Constantinople in 381 C.E first established the Trinity but did not become a widely accepted creed. Many opposed it and thus brought on themselves violent persecution. It was only in later centuries that the Trinity was formulated into set creeds.
THE Trinity was defined more fully in the Athanasian Creed. Athanasius was a clergyman who supported Constantine at Nicaea.
So it took centuries from the time of Christ for the Trinity to become widely accepted in Christendom. And in all of this, what guided the decisions? Was it the Word of God, or was it clerical and political considerations?

Now i know people of all creeds have issues with the veracity of the Bible but,it seems the Muslims are quite specific and selective in condemning certain passages of a verse as corrupt,then ignoring the rest of it as it doesn't impinge on their rights;
Isn't this strange,or maybe the Muslims are privvy to ancient texts of the Bible that corroborate their claims of corruptions.

So Muslims:please back up your claims of corruption with evidence?

it is so obvious that the elected officials know the people better than we know ourselves... no one is listening no one wants to hear or see... just vote and that will fix every thing like it always have... our elected officials are no more out of it than the /people that elect them believing that " O yeah the next administration" I did not know that we have been so conditioned like rats in a maze our elected official are just the head rats.. I learned a lot this evening about the people..... we are like a woman in a relationship of abuse for well over 20 years and believe that she can't get out of it ... conditioned to believe that the other person has the power... and some time they do and one has to wait for the right time moments and events to come about...we are truly living in the last days... if it was not for Jehovah GOD and his son Jesus we would be truly at a lost... I was just checking to see where people heads are no eyes to see nor ear to hear or listen

What Church does a born again Christian belong to or what faith do they follow? Please don't say "christianity" because surely Methodists and Catholics and Protestants are Christians too. Can anyone explain?

I am interested in learning more about Messianic Judaism, as well as getting a couple other friends and family together to practice as a very tiny, informal, semi-private worship gathering of Messianic Gentile Believers. I have a lot of Messianic Jewish literature (ie, Complete Jewish Bible [Tanakh and New Testament], devotional aids about MJ subjects, a tallit and kippah, 5 general praise & worship music cds, and a small brass menorah). Also, I am learning some Modern Hebrew and striving to memorize the Hebrew Alphabet. I know some basic Messianic Terminology and a couple Yiddish terms for basic words, Biblical Figures, a few phrases, and places. I am a brand new Messianic Gentile believer who loves Israel & the Jewish People, who needs some more info about Messianic Judaism, so I can attract people who are interested in Messianic Judaism, who might be Jewish or even Gentile like myself.

It either exists or it doesn't, if the Catholic Church previous said it exists then and now say it doesn't, it must surely follow that they're original belief was wrong - where does that leave Papal Infalability.

I don't understand how the Church can teach for hundreds of years that non-baptised children are removed from heaven, and then this year "oh by the way ........ we don't believe in limbo anymore."

Why is it that you kiss the feet of Jesus and worship idols?!
It clearly states in Deutoronomy: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or worship it.
Why is it that you worship Mary? Did you not know that Mary was a sinner?? She's just a woman, not the mother of God! In the Bible, you can see the Jesus refers to her a "woman" like every other lady, NOT "O sweet mother of thy father"!!!
BUT ESPECIALLY, WHY IS IT THAT YOU DOUBT YOU'RE OWN SALVATION?!?! IF YOU BOTHER TO READ THE REAL VERSION OF THE BIBLE, nearly the whole testament is basically filled with how to go to heaven.
In Romans, it states: "By grace are ye saved THROUGH FAITH, AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES. It is the gift of God, NOT OF WORKS, that any man shall boast.
So, you do charity work and HOPEFULLY make it to heaven.
BLESSED ASSURANCE, THAT JESUS HAS COME!
I see your fancy churches and your pretty name. It can have gold raining from the roof, as far as im concerned. But does it hold the truth? NO!

We all know this from tradition but based on what historical account did they know the names? (Please mention your source)

Also, what is the significance of the celebration of the "three kings"?

Why did it became (or termed) as "kings" when scripture states that they were magis or wise men?

I think the number of magis was not mentioned in scripture because it is of no significance BUT the gifts presented to our Lord was mentioned because of its symbolic meaning.

Hi everyone/Salam everyone, so I'm 20 years old and lived in America my whole life. My father was a devoted Muslim man who raised his children to be the same, so recently I started asking some questions about Islam, that started upsetting some people.(including my so called Muslim friends) before I say anything else, let me just say I have the highest belief in God, I mean it's a no-brainer to me. But my main issues involving Islam are the following:

• (1.) The way they regard women: a woman is seen lower than a man, having to cover up for a man for modesty reasons, in some Muslim countries a woman would be stoned to death if even seen talking to another man that wasn't related to her.
• (2.) You must pray five times a day to Allah (the greatest). My question is why? As a sign of respect? But can't you do that other ways, like by doing good, and respecting others.
• (3.) They say eating meat is a must, and on Eid you must sacrifice an animal. In my book that's just wrong, plain and simple.
• (4.) So like I said earlier "(including my so called Muslim friends)" if I were to miss a church day on Friday, they will always ask me where I was, putting peer pressure on me, to get me to come. I for one think, you should not be peer pressured into religion. I mean it's just phony; it's as if you were living a lie.

• So I guess the main question I'm asking myself is: are my intentions what I want them to be, am I doing it for Allah(the greatest), or is it just for show???

So those are my main questions dealing with Islam, if anyone could address these questions I would greatly appreciate it.

There is no proof. Well how on earth are you guys gonna hang on to the many historical proofs in the Bible when you guys can't even agree on whether or not the Jews were slaves in Egypt? This is a crucial bit of Jewish history that speaks volumes on the not so mysterious, God.

What is the rosary? I've heard about it, isn't it a Catholic prayer. Those of you who do that prayer and other Catholic prayers what about this verse?

"And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words." Matthew 6:7

I was just wondering because it's in the Catholic Bible too. Thanks
