i got alot of answers to my last question but this particular portion of the question seemed to be avoided.
and if so, was it ok if he entertained those thoughts?or at 17 was he able to just transfer the thoughts to "the wind blowing"?

i dont mean to be nasty...i just really wonder about it.
it certainly to me seems like jesus has been misrepresented. i mean, what about all those years of his life not accounted for in the bible...
things dont seem to add up.eh...

I am a Christian but do not know the answer to this question..... If God created Adam & Eve and they had children(mind you these were thought to be the FIRST people on Earth), who did Adam & Eve's children reproduce with to further the world population? They could not have reproduced with their own children, correct? Else, they would have been committing incest.....so, i asked a devout Christian this question but, they too did not have the answer. Do you?

Please don't bother to contradict the possibility of re-incarnation, this is not a philosophical question. I just want to know your opinion given the hypothesis

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. - 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.

I am from China and this is not a Christian country. However, when I read book, watch TV and see movies, I could often encounter these words like Priest, Minister, Bishop and Father.

Can you tell me who's whose boss? What kind of duty does each of them carry?

Thanks and Happy New Year 2008!

why do you always say we are questioning God? I have never questioned God, I have questioned man though.

Since the infamous Roe vs Wade ruling, literally BILLIONS of unborn babies have been aborted at the hands of doctors who have sworn to preserve life. This has been sanctioned by our weak-moralled government officials who have buckled under the pressure of a few out spoken women's libbers and backed by a medical community that makes billions off the murder of the unborn. The doctors have EVERY means nowadays to give patients all the facts, including feasible medical evidence showing exactly what takes place during an abortion; and that it's NOT just a "parasite" or a bunch of cells, but an actual human being in the womb. They choose NOT to because of the "big business it has become.

When the twin towers were hit, the world was in a state of shock because of this atrocity! Approx. 3000 people were dead as a result, and there's been a war going on ever since....DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND ME! 9/11 was horrible and our allied troops are heroes for what they do; but aren't our Governments

I'm 16 and I believe in God and I try to live a good life; no violence, stealing, adultery etc.

I once said to a couple that I was a Christian but then they said that I'm not a Christian because I drink, smoke and go out to nightclubs.

Note: I am Presbyterian (Protestant denomination)

Ok, first be civil, second be open minded...no one will take your answers to this question seriously if you don't approach it seriously and open minded. Here goes. I can not understand why some people do not believe Jesus was real and the son of God or at least a messenger of God. Lets just first exclude the bible and go to historical records. Many historical records have been found that show Jesus was real and was advocating reforms in Jewish laws set by the Pharisees, as well as Cesar's laws. He was taking down the harmful Pharisee's way of God and promoting the love and forgiveness of God. Second thing I want to approach is this. No one can say that Jesus was doing anything for wealth, fame, power, control, or political reasons. Through out history, in every country we can think of many great and wonderful people...but how many of them completely gave themselves to us literally. He did everything he could to show Gods love. With actual historical records why not believe? TY

I'm interested in hearing from people, but Id like to ask only those that meet these criteria to reply.

Do not reply if:
you were born into your religion
became religious after a near death experience
you turned to religion to solve your life problems.
you felt as if there was a hole in your life.

It seems to me like people turn to god because they were raised that way ( which I can understand) or because they have problems that they felt they couldn't solve alone.

Yes I am atheist for my own personal reasons, but Id love to hear from an intelligent strong Christian or follower of a different faith.
