The definition of apostasy is:

"APOSTASY
a·pos·ta·sy (-pst-s) KEY

NOUN:
pl. a·pos·ta·sies
Abandonment of one's religious faith, a political party, one's principles, or a cause."

Since Manasseh in the bible obviously did this and was later forgiven by Jehovah after finally humbling himself... shows that even apostates, such as many on here, can come to their senses and return to Jehovah... correct?

I've been raised as a Methodist, but the past few years have left me questioning my Christian beliefs. I still believe in God, but I also am intrigued by paths of other religions. Do you think that God gave the world different religions for a more colorful palate, and that to acheive a better sense of spritual awakening it's acceptable to incorporate beliefs of other faiths?

Well, please don't be offended, but I have a lot of mormon, atheist, muslim, ect. friends. I also have a couple of gay friends. But I still love God and I've accepted him as my savior. I can't ask my parents because I'm afraid they'd make me stop hanging out with all my friends of different religion. My question is...
Is it ok for me to have those kind of friends, gay/different religion friends? As long as I don't let it interfere with my religion? Does it say somewhere in the Bible that it's wrong, and if it does could you tell me the verse because I'm confused. Some people are telling me it's ok and others are saying it's totally wrong. I really don't want to stop being friends with them, but religion is important to me.
PS. This question was not intended to offend ANYONE. I really do want to know.

If God asked you to seek his kingdom out and his righteousness, if you ask him for perfection, and to live in heaven, he would just give it to you. Would you strive to become like him, knowing you could reach this goal here on earth, become perfect and sinless before God, and sin no more before you die, because God declares this in the bible. Kinda like sin is defeated, and lucifer's rain is over in you. To become like God, and his righteousness, and walk holy before God, Would you walk like Jesus? If this was the path to salvation? and all you have to do is ask, or seek.

is this not a better path then Jesus dieing for our sins?

I can see why Jesus was sent, there is none like me, and all would have fallen to the god of this world, but my soul, "so far" because sin rains in you. I kinda walk alone in my faith for perfection and heaven. God holds my keys to heaven, and my heart.

So the question to ask is did we need a messiah?

I was posed a question by some friends; why is it that when the spanish terrorist group ETA bombed spain that nothing was mentioned of their religion. However, just like in todays case, Benazir Bhutto was killed by a terrorist group in Pakistan. Religion in this had no motive but yet Islam has again become 'evil'. religion has nothing to do with this as this is a case of pure politics.
We in the west think what is going on in the world is right - say what you may that is the general feeling - however, the innocent civilians in other parts view it differently. There is always a two sides to a war.
It is foreign policies that is causing a big mess for the world.
Is that why Russia is moving away from us and problems have begun to mount between us once again?

Reality?
Logic?
The mind; the heart, so deceptively fallible.
The only reality, the only logic is the one we agree on.
We're slaves to our lessons.
Allow me to share one of mine.

*The only true reason you know you're right, is because people agree.
*The only true reason you know you're wrong, is because people agree.

Prove God wrong and you’ll prove God right.
Prove God right and you’ll prove God wrong.
Prove God wrong and you’ll prove God right.
Prove God right and you’ll prove God wrong.
Right or wrong; wrong or right…the world has gone mad?

Just look at the beauty of Angelina Jolie (or Brad Pitt, if you prefer). How could something so beautiful evolve from ugly monkeys? How could they emerge from goo?

Isn't the existence of Charlize Theron (or perhaps George Clooney) undeniable proof that there must be a god?

How can you be so blind? (unless, of course, you ARE blind).

I think that is complete bs. I Believe in Jesus Christ therefore I am not an atheist in ANY way because an atheist does not believe in ANY GODS so since i believe in a god i am not atheist.

I saw this cross on a church in Manhatten and it had the letters " IHS," across the center of it. Can anyone tell me what this means. I have been told several different translations, but want to know if any one answer is correct. I have been told they are the leteers of Jesus in Greek. I have also been told it means, In his service and several other forms of Jesus name. Thanks for any help you can give me.

People all the time ask questions of or about Christians, many are trying to illustrate how obserd Christianity is, or how wrong we are and what we are "missing out on". Does this make you feel attacked, angry, sad, greived for the asker... do you see an oppertunity to avenge the name of God, slap people with His Word, see an oppertunity to help others, minister to searching hearts??

I am honestly wondering.
