Reality?
Logic?
The mind; the heart, so deceptively fallible.
The only reality, the only logic is the one we agree on.
We're slaves to our lessons.
Allow me to share one of mine.

*The only true reason you know you're right, is because people agree.
*The only true reason you know you're wrong, is because people agree.

Prove God wrong and you’ll prove God right.
Prove God right and you’ll prove God wrong.
Prove God wrong and you’ll prove God right.
Prove God right and you’ll prove God wrong.
Right or wrong; wrong or right…the world has gone mad?

With great respect and no judgment I would like to give you my personal beliefs.

Religion has been the core of most wars in history. Look back hundreds of years and one religion was fighting another for whatever.
Wars have only been fought because of either religion or land.

I do not agree the world has gone mad I think that the world is evolving, and the best of all, will prevail in the end. There is basically more good in the world that negative/ We only hear about the negatives because they have a louder voice.
However, there are the "silent ones" all over this planet that are becoming more spiritual, more giving, more loving and more aware that we are Spiritual Beings having a human experience - not -= Human beings having a spiritual experience.

I have faith in goodness and love and live my life according to the positive words and teachings of Jesus, Buddha etc.
Judgment of another is the creator of wars. KNOWING that you are right and everyone else wrong, is the creator of wars. Hate is the creator of wars. Racism is the creator of wars. All chosen ways of human beings. If we would live as Spiritual Beings having a Human experience, we would be living the opposite kind of lives, with a true awareness of who we are, children of God.

So I would answer to your question.

With religion, what do we have, if not a world gone mad.

Peace and love,

The paradigm in our lives is that things becomes right or wrong because of a belief everyone grew up with. Even your own reason as you may claim is yours, is not without basing it from the influences that sorrounds you. We are made to believe in what we believe because of a so called social consciousness or social norm and we somehow feel that it is comfortable to agree with many than feel alone or outcast in your own belief. Our minds have also been somewhat made fearful of the unknown so it took us so long to progress and few have gone ahead while many are left behind. What we all use to know is that life goes around in circles but only few have noticed that it goes in circle alright but never knowing it goes spiraling up too into a progressive heights.
With or without religion all creatures have the tendencies to follow a certain pattern. Animals do not have religion yet they have minds of their own that are able to survive in the wild with their own set of rules as a society or a family (tribes and herds).
Man exists in the early stage of believing in the forces of nature as the giver and sustainers of their lives and fates. The world has not gone mad until man started to defy the laws of nature. The world has not gone mad.... Man has.

I don't necessarily oppose religion but I know that religion has been responsible for far more "madness" in this world than lack of religion has been.

You do remember reading about the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Witch Trials, the Holocaust, the wars etc, right?

The rest of your post makes no sense.

Well, the religious of all stripes pretty much run the world right now.

And it already seems pretty mad to me.

Without it, maybe we'd stand a chance at a reasonable existence.

Maybe not, but we've already tried it the OTHER way. Give atheism a chance!

We couldn't screw up worse than the religious already have!

I don't know. Why don't you ask predominately atheistic Sweden? That country must be a mess. I mean, 3/4 have no religion...

Alternatively, you could check out some of the most religious countries in the world - Afghanistan, East Timor, Somalia etc....

If the international never had faith the outcomes are surprising and would desire to be good, undesirable or no distinction in any respect. If faith dies down and is replaced with non-non secular spirituality and atheism then i will fantastically incredibly anticipate the positives will a approaches outdo any undesirable consequences. although the place faith dies, pseudo-sciences will emerge extra constructive. in lots of situations something lands up filling the hollow left and you get screwed the two way.

look at the history of religion and how it was used.

for the most part, religion played a specific role in countries to act as a way to control the general public. religion always played a large role in the kings decisions.

religion was nothing more then an excuse for control and power. and its still that way.

And tell me, what do we have RIGHT NOW if not a world gone mad? Most of the madness is caused by religion, not cured by it. There are no atheist suicide bombers.

What are you, the Riddler? Rather than coming up with silly verbal games, try using actual examples.

There are countries where very few people are religious and they seem to do fine.

huh?

Well, I'm not really a big fan of religion, but it does seem to shape up people's minds who truly believe in it. If they believe in religion, they believe in god, And they believe in doing good things for other, and they do good things for other. So it's not always a bad thing.

But it's a pain in the *** when people kill in the name of religion.
